BlackSox13
Yep. If a pitcher fades that much in September I can't see how that would go well in the playoffs. Not that surprised by today's outcome.

bmags
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Oct 5, 2017 -> 06:47 PM) So much eye-roll. Same. No need to tear a player down. He didn’t leave the Sox, he was traded.

jenksycat
Helps accept dealing away the best pitcher in modern franchise history. Also, all his dumb antics over the years made me not really like him in a way like say Buehrle
hi8is
Wonder how he would have pitched if he had thrown all year on his old program. Hope we get to see him pitch again this series.

Dam8610
QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Oct 5, 2017 -> 05:55 PM) The trade got a little better today. Not really, it just continued the sad and unfortunate trend of Chris Sale performing poorly after the month of August.

greg775
The underhedline on this post is kind of classless. Sale is still a great pitcher. He did get hammered today. Anybody watch it? What was the problem? We saw some rare bad Sale starts with the Sox as well. Stuff happens.

He did get hammered today. Anybody watch it? What was the problem? We saw some rare bad Sale starts with the Sox as well. Stuff happens. He's a spaz that over-throws when the adrenaline flows, he misses his spots and gets hit hard, with experience and late season throttling, this may be avoidable. It's hard to tell how much is mental or physical, the total package just comes with this kind of pitcher.

kitekrazy
I thought he would pass his career high of 17 wins with Boston.

Mercy!! And when Sale's on, he's an even better pitcher than Johnson statistically. With that poise, he'd be another Kershaw
Southwest Sider
Helps make the Sox look a little smarter in dealing him, as bittersweet as it is to say. I'd be very disappointed in a performance like that from Sale had our Sox actually made the postseason with him.

ron883
It's a shame we decided to trade Chris Sale and rebuild. Some of us fans hate losing this much and would rather see a fringe playoff team that may get to the wild card game and then get beaten down when Sale starts it
hi8is
QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 5, 2017 -> 09:56 PM) In some respects, it’s warranted. The Red Sox didn’t acquire Sale to record 300 K’s in the regular season. They acquired him to be their ace and No. 1 ace in the playoffs. When you don’t even give your team much of a chance on the mound, you’ve failed, big time. For sure - totally agree. I don't envy Red Sox fans and hope that for the next 6 years Kopech and Moncada just flat out KILL it and both become annual all-stars.
