Heads22
Go Hawkeyes. They look like they have a pretty good front court this year and I like their back court with the two young guards. Alford is due to get things together. I've heard they have been playing really good when they went down under during the offseason. I'm excited...I think Alford can bring the program to the next level...thus far he hasn't...but I got a good feeling it will start this year. Haluska is a douche. If he wanted to go to Iowa so badly in the first place, then why didn't he? It's time for some Hilton Magic though... Eustachy was trying to spread that "Hilton Magic" to all drunken sorority girls in the big 12. Eustachy was a damn good coach however. Besides, at least we know the guy likes to have fun... Steaming Willy Harris
I used to hate Eustaciey, but how could you hate a guy who goes to college parties and drinks Natty Ice and hits on pudgey 19 year old girls. I wish he was still their coach.

But after the 1999-2000 season when they finished ranked third, and you could count the team's losses on one hand. (One was to Drake of all teams, Colorado beat them because they hit a half court shot, One to top-ranked Cincinatti, one to Oklahoma in double OT, and the heartbreaker to Mich. St.) Tinsley and Fizer connecting oh so many times on alley-oops and behind the back passes...It was something great to watch.

Was that the year that they freaking lost deep in the postseason against MSU or was that the year they lost to UCLA (I think that was like 1998 or so) late in the game when Tyus Edney went down or someone like that did it. Steaming Willy Harris
Don't get me wrong though Soxheads, being a Hawkeye my hate for Cyclone teams is only surpassed by my feelings about the cubs. As for best college Basketball team this year, though im not really a college basketball expert I have a feeling that Kentucky will be up to something big this year. IlliniKrush
Nick Smith is a big baby down low, if he had any muscle he'd be a lot better of a player Who knows what we'll get from Spears because he was out all of last year. We are gonna need him to contribute. Hopefully Augustine, Spears, Smith can still score inside a whole lot so we don't have to become purely an outside shooting team. I look forward to a healthy, if possible, Luther Head. He's a sparkplug.
Steaming Willy Harris
oh god, Nick Smith really hurts to watch. He looks so scared and awkward like he doesnt want to be out there whenever he plays. Probably weighs about 120 lbs too. I have a feeling the Illini will have a transition year this year, basically meaning probably a low seed NCAA birth maybe 5 or 6th in the big ten. Its real hard for a new coach to come in and implement his new program to a bunch of the old coaches players. From what it looks like i dont really see a dominant Big Ten basketball team, maybe Wisconsin or Indiana might win this year, or even Iowa (crossing my fingers)
IlliniKrush
Indiana=Huge flop last year Big Ten should be interesting this year for sure. I don't know how Weber will do with the boys, but we have enough talent on our team to do some damage. Hopefully Dee and Deron can pick up where they left off with Self. southsider2k5
IIRC the Orangemen bring back everyone except Melo. They seemed to have another good freshman guard, and a couple of sophomores in the front line. It seems like they will be a top 20 team, but I would look that up. They had one senior last year and that was Dueny. Other than that everyone else except Melo is back. They should be a top 20 team even without him. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/roster?collegeId=
sox4lifeinPA
look for Antwan Wright and Texas A&M to play spoiler in the Big 12 this year... we've made some strides over the last year plus.

Also, Wisconsin will be very good because they always are and Iowa should be pretty solid. I'm expecting Indiana to finish aroung 5th or 6th this year in the Big 10. Besides Bracey Wright they really have no one who can put the ball in the basket.

I did like Self though. I like your freshman but not at all impressed by your returning players. Simien is good when healthy and Langford is real good but the rest of those guys didn't impress me much last year.
WSoxShuf
ok fine lets take this concept Aaron Miles who was scared s***less of Roy had a better assist to turn over ration than tj ford. Also number 3 in assist per games. Jeff Graves has lost 15 lbs. oh yeah hte guy who had 16 points and boards averaging in the ncaa tourney.
