I hate it as much as anyone that they didn't protect him but they didn't protect him when they could have, they're not picking him. He was promising prior to the last couple years, I guess the Sox didn't see enough in AA to think he can become an effective ML pitcher, even in relief role, although he did progress somewhat between 2016 and 2017. All things equal I'd like to keep him and see...likely won't amount to anything, but I wouldn't just give him away either. Perhaps Hahn has eyes on someone else (Burdi??? lets go). Will see....
