ChiSoxJon
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 16, 2018 -> 09:31 PM) Excited to hear that Sheets is regularly getting loft on the ball and the source isn’t Merkin. Poor Sheets gets no attention with being overshadowed in such a deep system

KnightsOnMintSt
I think that Robert will end the 2018 campaign in Birmingham. I dont know how long that will be, but I think we will see him with the Barons for some time. I dont know if he will be on the same track as Ronald Acuna from the Braves, but I think we could easily see Luis with 3 different teams this season. Personally, I think he should start in Kannapolis just to get his feet wet. Assuming everything goes well, I think that he could see Winston-Salem by the start of May. Let him play with the Dash for May, June, and July. Then depending on his progress, maybe push him to Birmingham for that last month of the season. Y2Jimmy0
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 16, 2018 -> 07:04 PM) Birmingham would be crazy aggressive. I think he definitely starts in Kanny to get his feet wet and build some confidence, unless he just totally blows everyone away in camp and ends up at Winston-Salem. Let's not forget we heard the same things about Viciedo as a 19 year old, and, while he did reach the big leagues in just two years, it took him a good 3+ years in the minors before he broke into the line-up as a regular LFer. Of course, part of that was all the position changes, 3B/1B/LF/RF. The only thing that Luis Robert and Dayan Viciedo have in common is that they're from Cuba. Chisoxfn
Remember, the athletic is a pay to play content provider and the entire media industry has been upheaved, with many writers losing their jobs, etc. Stuff behind a paywall can't be shared. People are welcome to post general summaries, but if you want to read the full article, you should subscribe. By all accounts the content on the athletic is absolutely fantastic. JR Fegan's coverage of the White Sox is very regular and detailed. I was on the fence for awhile, but am very glad I subscribed. They had a black friday discount in November which really brought the cost down. I'd highly recommend all Soxtalk posters subscribe, as the small cost per month is worth the quality Sox news and analysis.

It's the best White Sox and Bulls coverage in the city. You also get all the other sports, every article from every other Athletic site as well. The White Sox hitters mini-camp is currently underway. At FutureSox, we have Kim Contreras there covering. The only other outlet in the city covering it is James Fegan. That's one reason why The Athletic is awesome and worth it. bmags
Though it may not translate to anything, sure is nice after Robert being somewhat of a mystery to follow after signing that he didn't show up weighing 260 lbs and first impression of him being less athletic and slower than they thought. That legitimately could have happened

OmarComing25
Josh Nelson 12:10 Saw your tweet from the White Sox hitters camp. Who impresses you the most from that group? Eric A Longenhagen 12:11 It was Robert and it wasn't close. Hit balls out to all fields during BP, more raw pop than anyone else taking BP on that field including Burger and Sheets From Longenhagen's and McDaniel's chat today. Chicago White Sox
I've said it before, but Robert has #1 prospect in baseball potential. He's also a plus runner who scouts expect will stay in center field.
