:fthecubs Oh, that hurts. One of the things I had to respect Gov. Bogdonovich (sic) about was recently he said that he was a Cubs fan through and through and no matter what, he would always be on their side. He never came out directly and said it, but you could tell he was getting at saying he would never root for the Sox. Gotta respect that, in some strange way. :fthecubs

I don't disrespect them for being a Cub fan. It is a guy who grew up on the southside, professes to be a life long Sox fan and season ticket holder, but shows up in Atlanta wearing a Cubs hat that pisses me off. f*** him and the crime family he rode into office on.

I just respect the fact that Bog-boy will stick to his team. I know it is easy to do now that they are in play-offs, but he even says that if he were to root for the other team, that would be lying, and if he can't be trusted with his team loyalty, how could he be trusted in his job. :usa

Guess you missed it opening day when he was in the booth with Hawk & DJ gushing over the Sox and how "they have a great team and can go all the way this year"..

The mayor is being PC. The same thing Blago would have done had the Sox made it.

What a shock that Little Dick would jump on a photo op and betray all the yapping he's done for years.

He's an embarrassment and if anyone could decide on ONE strong challenger he'd be in serious trouble because of his ego and his feeling of entitlement.

But all these little groups keep sending 2 and 3 opponents against him so they can split the opposition votes up and Dickie keeps sailing right through the middle of the split.

He sucks.

Actually, I heard a sound bite where the reporter asked him [before his trip to Atlanta] if he was going to wear a Sox hat a Turner field and he replied something to the the effect of, " Everyone's going to do the chop chop thing. I'm not gonna do that to my Sox hat."

He's a Sox fan through and through. It don't sit well in his stomach that it's the Cubs still playing and not his beloved Sox...

But unfortunately, you have to show face as a politician.

Forkit!

Then leave the Cubs hat in the closet! It is that easy. Everyone understands that he is going to go to games, but don't sell our your team.

Like Hillary Clinton in her Yankees hat while running for the Senate in NY. By the way, I don't believe for a minute that Gov B would don a Sox cap if they were in the playoffs. He's made clear where his sentiments lie. Screw his team but more power to him for sticking up for them.

Actually Hill has been much worse than Richie. She has been telling her NY constituants that she wants the Yankees will win it all, and her Chicago friends and family that she wants the Cubs to win it all. But then again lying seems to happen pretty easily in that family

He is the mayor of the city.  He has to root for both teams as they both benefit the city.  I see your point but this is life and business not the fun we get out of it.  For PC sake at the highest level he has to back both.  Why was he in Atlanta to begin with?

He had some confrence down there. He actually had been scheduled to be down there on business, before the Cubs made the playoffs.

The beauty of this is all the f***ing Cub fans are probably thinking it's sooo cool. Of course we know the truth. Relax, let him get a few votes in the process. Would you rather have a northsider in the Mayor's office?

:D It's a f***ing joke if anyone really thinks he's suddenly decides he likes the Cubs over Sox.

Daley is supposed to be at Wrigley on Friday. However, I still don't see what everyone is getting upset about. He is the MAYOR OF CHICAGO, representing the CITY OF CHICAGO supporting a team that PLAYS IN CHICAGO. Hell, if he ignored the Cubs being in the playoffs he wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell of being re-elected.

It's all about votes, people.

I give the mayor credit.

In USA Today I get in KC he said, "I am a White Sox fan."

I mean he said that then said he the Cubs had good fans.

Folks da mayor was sending us a message. Don't turn on him.

We Sox fans are too smart for that.

He was saying, I love the White Sox.

We all know the guy has to show up and support the City of Chicago.

But he was letting us know he's a Sox fan thru and thru.

Read between the lines folks, it was in USA Today.
