wrathofhahn
Jose Abreu has dropped over ten pounds this offseason with a goal of stealing more bases for the Chicago White Sox this season. "Just because I think I can do it," Abreu said of the goal. "I really believe I can do it and I like the challenge. I like to challenge myself and I think that's a good challenge for me and I'm ready for it." https://theathletic.com/245444/2018/02/18/j...stealing-bases/ Would be something else if he could add that component to his game. At the very least dropping the added weight (assuming it's not muscle) would also allow him to move around in the infield better and possible add a couple of years at 1B before having to DH Edited February 19, 2018 by wrathofhahn

LittleHurt05
A lunatic steroid rager? Doesn't seem to fit Abreus personality.

Come on you knew what I meant. I'm sure there others out there but Canseco was the last 30-20 or 40-20 guy I remember with Abreu sort of size. ron883
Hmmm that would explain Jose's weight loss and resurgence last year. Maybe he's been juicing. Edited February 20, 2018 by ron883

Canseco was actually very goodto kids off the field. One Spring Training game I saw him signing 2 autographs per kis. He would tell them to keep one and sell the other to the autograph collector standing a section over for 20.00.
Jose Abreu
QUOTE (wrathofhahn @ Feb 19, 2018 -> 09:25 PM) Ugh this wasn't my intention think I need to take a break from the board every thread I make gets side tracked. That was to Ron, not you. You might know that but I just wanted to make sure. I understand the point you were making in the original post. LittleHurt05
QUOTE (wrathofhahn @ Feb 19, 2018 -> 05:51 PM) Come on you knew what I meant. I'm sure there others out there but Canseco was the last 30-20 or 40-20 guy I remember with Abreu sort of size. I just read the headline and commented in all honesty. It's a hard comparison because Canseco is such a polarizing figure. On to your real point, Bobby Abreu went 30-40 recently, although he's a bit smaller than the other two I would guess
CaliSoxFanViaSWside
If ABreu's weight loss affects him like Avi's did we'll have an MVP on our hands.
