WBWSF
Last year I thought Hahn was not going to be rehired. I wrote JR a letter asking him if I can be interviewed for the White Sox GM job. Turns out Hahn was rehired and I didn't get a response from JR to my letter. Looks like Hahn is going to be the GM as long as JR owns the team. In 2001 JR hired Roland Hemond to assist Ken Williams. I'm going to write JR another letter and ask him if he would bring back Hemond again to assist Hahn. Roland Hemond is 88 years old and has forgotten more about baseball than Hahn will ever know. Perhaps Hemond will help him right this ship. What harm would it do to bring Hemond back? Then again Hahn might be offended by Hemond being hired and he'll resign. But I am a Sox fan and I don't like our season being over in early May. And 17 under .500 already. I mean good grief. Also I'm starting to get mad at the severity of the rebuild. I mean it's not like we're guaranteed to draft well. I know we allegedly don't want to be anywhere near .500 during the rebuild years, but it is embarrassing and annoying to suck like this. We've already made the bulk of the trades. We're not going to "flip anybody" on this roster worth a damn. I guess we could still trade Jose A and Beef. But Nate's not bringing anybody; Avi at this rate isn't bringing anybody. Soria for gosh sake isn't bringing anybody. So that only leaves the draft pick as reason to want us to suck and that's not a good enough reason to win 48 games. Finally ... heads should roll over paying Soria what the Sox are paying him. I know I want the front office to pay big bucks at all times to players, but some of the folks on this board who don't want the Sox to ever spend money should be FURIOUS over this waste of money in Soria. Why give him that kind of 'jack?' The man could not strike out Fathom. Edited May 12, 2018 by greg775
Dick Allen
The first 35 games after they traded Q, they were 10-25.Then they went 19-21 to finish out the year, mostly Sept. meaningless games for both teams. So 9-26 is pretty similar to where they were after Q. Then they did a bit better, but who knows about the September asterisk. Maybe their record is their their talent level. I still think Baltimore is worse, and will be even more pathetic after they deal Machado. I am not too sold on Detroit not falling apart like they did last year, and after watching head to head, it’s hard to imagine KC truly being better than the White Sox. Cinciantti and Miami are far and away awful in the NL, and SD is poised to make sure their draft pick is high. The Sox could finish with a worse record than last season and draft a few slots lower. WBWSF
My interview with JR. I would of answered any question he asked me. And believe me if he wanted a honest answer about anything, I'm the guy. I've always thought my strong point when it comes to MLB is I'm able to evaluate talent. I think I'm good at it. Frankly I think Hahn is bad at it. This present White Sox team would be a lot different today if I was running the show, even with this so called rebuild. You would have more talent on this team now and believe me I wouldn't break the bank doing it . You could of easily had a competitive team this year even with the rebuild. I actually had the chance to work for the White Sox years ago and I couldn't do it . I had other concerns at the time. I've always regretted not working for them. I would like to do it now but it looks like that's not going to happen.

They have the worse pitching staff I have ever seen in my lifetime. They probably have ONE good pitcher on the team who anybody would want (Lopez). This is going to be a historically bad team with no end in sight. I wish I felt differently about this situation but I don't. I regret renewing my season ticket package this year. But you have to have hope in everything you do, I hope JR sells the team. I would like Mark Cuban to come on board as eventual owner. I foresee K Williams to inherit a piece of ownership but I would question whether the Sox have any market left in a few years. We will see how it plays out. EvilJester99
The White Sox have signed free-agent second baseman Johnny Giavotella, according to an announcement from Birmingham, their Double-A affiliate. Giavotella will begin his White Sox tenure in Birmingham.
WBWSF
I read today where the 2018 White Sox have a pitching ERA of 5.25 which is the second highest ERA in franchise history. The 1934 White Sox had a ERA of 5.41. I don't doubt for a minute that this pitching staff could easily become the worst staff by the end of the season. They simply can't get anybody out. I can't help but wonder what is the team going to do about the pitching staff in 2019?. I will assume that Kopech will be on the team in 2019. There doesn't appear to be anybody at Charlotte who can help the team besides Kopech. What are they going to do this off season? Are they going to sign some free agents who can pitch? Or are they going to keep these same pitchers who are here now?

WBWSF
1) Robertson and Jennings would still be on the team. 2) Shields would have never been on this team. 3) Arrieta accepted a 3 year contract with the Phillies with a 2 year TEAM OPTION. If he would have accepted the same deal here, he would be wearing a White Sox uniform. 4) Mike Moustakas signed a contract for $5 million dollars with a option for a second year. I would have signed him for 3 years. 5) Soria would not be on this team. 6) I would have tried to acquire another starting pitcher, maybe Chatwood. Due to the fact the first place team in our division (the Indians) has a losing record, I think the changes I would have made this team would be in contention. My objective would be to try and get the team in the Playoffs. Once you're in the Playoffs anything can happen. It appears to me as if this organization and Hahn held up the white flag before the season even started. I don't believe in tear downs and holding up a white flag. I want to win. tray
Hindsight means nothing. What I want to know now is how this hot mess can be turned into a respectable team for the rest of this season....a team that fans will pay to see and spend time to watch on TV. If they can't then maybe turn to some Bill Veeck style promotional antics. Maybe get a midget to lead-off or blow up some country music CD's in Center field. And maybe it is time to let Jason Benetti and Steve Stone go. This ugly losing baseball deserves the kind of sarcastic tone that the late Harry Carey and Jimmy Piersall employed during the 1970's or the self deprecating style of Bob Uecker. The candyazzz approach to losing ugly from the management and from the announcers isn't working ...and it's only the middle of May. pcq
My expectation for Rodon is he will show up around July and manage maybe five starts before the next injury problem. I don't think they are really counting on him yet. Wish him the best though. Right now the MLB level arms have been a tad underwhelming. No one expected 9-27 at this point. I think they can and will do better after the miasma clears.
