I’m watching Parke dominate here. 5 IP 2 H 0 R 6 Ks 0 BB

Had back to back HBPs but is doing really well here tonight

How does his stuff look? His college numbers were horrific and I couldn’t find any info on velocity. His numbers so far on the season have been ridiculous.

If Booker, Basabe, Adolfo, and Sheets keep it up, they're going to need to make some room in Birmingham sooner rather than later. Those four are tearing the cover off the ball. Dunning should already be in Birmingham, and if Cease keeps pitching like this, he should earn a midseason promotion as well.

They will keep them (position players) together with the future Sox manager until the All-Star break in June...but Dunning will go first.

It looks good. I’m behind home plate here. He looks pretty good and in control. They took him out after 5. The only time he looked iffy was when he had back to back HBPs. Other than that spotless

Basabe 3/3...double through the 1b down the line on a 97 mph fb, got hometown call instead of the error.

Another Venezuelan, former Padre Jose Ruiz in...6/2/0/2/5 line for Cease. First career 6 ip performance.

Ruiz actually struck out Cespedes in his 1 ip in the majors.

Why is Collins sitting in favor of Courtney Hawkins getting DH ABs? That's insane. Why is Hawkins even still in the org?

Courtney Hawkins is not blocking a single prospect. Collins isn’t sitting for Hawkins ABs.

Basto and Hawkins are the obvious candidates to give way.

Polo should be playing everyday. Basabe and Booker will be the ones to be pushed first, as Rutherford needs a full High A season to prove himself.

Adolfo eventually to test his bat at a higher level, but that would take at-bats from Zavala or Collins.

Booker is probably going to get bumped as soon as Robert comes back. Babase will get promoted by June if he can keep this production up. Adolfo probably doesn’t get promoted this season for multiple reasons. Sheets could force a promotion post All Star break if all goes right. Nothing in Birmingham will be blocking the WS guys.

Kind of curious that with how great a lot of our minor league hitters are playing, very few HR so far. All teams played today and only 3 HR combined, and Kanny was the only loser today.

In fact, team leaders.........

Charlotte - Palka/Rondon - 2 (Team total of 4)

Birmingham - Zavala/Fisher - 2 (Team total of 4)

W-S - Booker/Roman/Yrizarri - 1 (Team total of 3)

Kanny - Blackman - 3 (Team total of 5)

So after 8 or 9 games for all these teams, no team has more than 5 HR! That's kind of nuts, especially when you consider our major league team had 6 just on Opening Day!

They said on the Sox Talk podcast that the plan is for Adolfo to get surgery after 100 ABs. I hadn't heard that, but if true, he's looking at about 3 weeks left before he's shut down. Maybe they let him get ABs until Robert is ready, then shut him down, and no room HAS to be made (although Booker/Robert/Basabe/Rutherford is already too many).
