That's kind of what I was thinking. He doesn't have an overpowering fastball, and his offspeed pitches aren't very deceptive. Which suggests to me he should have pinpoint control then, but that isn't there either. What am I missing?

It's more that he can't locate his offspeed stuff, so people don't swing at them. When he has shown he can get to two strikes, his curve can do a lot of damage.

the mariners are looking really good early. if leake and felix are legit 110 ERA+ types this year and stay healthy their rotation isn't a weakness it's a strength. long way to go though.
