Wait until Kopech and Eloy get up. I said a week and a half ago when they looked terrible, and I’ll say it now. By August this team will still be bad, but be a lot of fun to watch.

Not trying to be Debbie Downer again but if we're going to have a real rotation by August and real lineup by August, isn't it a shame we didn't try to hover around .500 til then? Are we assuming all the young guys we call up are going to suck for a year and a half before 2020? I don't see why that has to be the case. If they are ready for the bigs, suddenly our new era is saying they may need 2 seasons before they get good. Very weird. Before the tank/rebuild era when a guy got called up, he was supposed to be good right off the bat or start losing his elite status.

These guys would not be a real rotation in august if they were not given playing time to struggle. They would come up in August and do what Giolito and Fulmer are doing on their bad days right now, and they'd probably screw up even more because the manager is telling them "We've got to compete and you can't screw up at all!".

So yeah, you're stuck with Gonzalez and Shields all year on your competitive roster. Congrats. Good luck.

He plays too shallow and takes bad routes. Terrible combination

Rios was the one who always wanted to play as far back as possible...and had lots of balls drop in front when he was in CF, right?  It seems that he was much better in RF, just like Eaton.

Whereas Engel is not going to survive at any position in the big leagues, but he might get his Jamey Carroll pension qualification at least.

That was true when we had to rush Daniel Hudson up...and only gave him 3 starts, but no longer the case.

Greg (not Balta), you've got to relax about the day to day stuff.

Matt Davidson isn't an All-Star just because he rakes against the Royals.  It's a long a-- season.

?  Greg hates Davidson now that us “statniks” are finally intrigued.
