Eminor3rd
I can't believe we can't find some guy who can't hit but can actually play the OF to just step in. I mean I'm all for giving guys a chance to stick in a season like this, but do we really think Palka is someone who needs to be seen? How many bad first baseman are we going to stick in the OF corners this year? It's getting absurd.

He is relaying either the pitch he wants thrown, location he wants the pitch to go, or both. When the Sox are hitting, he’s relaying if he wants the Sox to bunt, take a pitch, steal a base, etc. He relays that to the catcher (when pitching) or third base coach (when hitting).

Not sure I’ve ever seen a worse outfielder for the Sox, defensively. Either put him at DH or stick his ass on waivers.

Look at their record, and look at their schedule. They have played mostly crap teams. I thought for sure they were head and shoulders better than KC and Detroit. They probably will finish ahead of KC, but I think they may be in the top 3 of worst White Sox teams I have ever seen.

Don’t know if you’re being sarcastic, but in the major leagues, these managers, catchers and pitchers watch a ton of tape which show tendencies, weaknesses & strengths. Typically teams have a binder in the dugout which show these things which in turn is what the manager relays. Of course when you have a staff like this, it doesn’t matter.

GreenSox
Lopez' peripherals haven't been strong; probably a matter of time. That's 3 of the top pitching prospects....so far, no for sure keepers.

I still don't trust Lopez at all. Lopez is been at least as good as anyone could expect. People were living a dream thinking Fulmer was the guy he was in September, look at him the rest of the year in the minors. They also were crazy to think Giolito was the guy he looked like when he was called up. He was pretty brutal in AAA. His advanced numbers weren't very good. I think it's fair to have expected them both to be a bit better, there really hasn't been evidence when you look at their overall body of work, that either is more than a 5th starter, if they are even that. It would have been nice to have been proven wrong, but it was easy to see. You just have to hope the flashes of dominance Lopez has shown can catapult him to that level. That Rodon comes back and is what we all expected him to be. That Kopech learns to pitch, and some of the others come through. Some have been calling the Sox prospects waves. The Fulmer, Giolito wave wasn't even a wave without Lopez.

caulfield12
Only 16 more games left with CLE in their last 111. They really needed that win in Game 1 to believe they could actually beat them. Rodon, IMO, might be the only one capable of pulling it off...have a feeling they would destroy Kopech if he was getting behind in counts ad trying to overpower them.
