Now we know RR is gone. He won't be manager next season unless we're expected to lose 110 games again.

Don't get your hopes up. If they fire him and hire someone legit, they will actually get criticism if they don't play well.

The last time any Sox manager had some legit pressure on them...Sept 2012 and May 2016, just two months since the 2010 season.

we are trying to lure the tigers back into the al central race so they can foolishly trade some of their prospects?

definitely had no use for Palka and Davidson there....none at all

Think about that.

He just managed himself into a 9th inning, down by one run situation -- where he had his slowest runner on first representing the tying run. With his absolute worst hitter at the plate, with the game on the line. With all options exhausted.

And it was BEYOND avoidable...

And is Trayce really that much faster than Palka?  Palka is slow in the field but isn't as slow as you would think on the bases. Trayce isn't exactly Engel or Timmy running, and it was obvious when he had no shot going to 3rd on a soft single to RF.

I'm thinking Trayce will be DFA'ed soon. Poor guy is gonna have to play Independent League soon or enter the real world. Just another guy who can't hit a baseball. Tough sport.

I feel for the guy, but even he has to know that his days in Major League Baseball are extremely numbered and that he can't hang. He sees his numbers on the scoreboard every night.

Yeah, I've never thought of Palka as slow. He's moved it down the line to beat out a few ground balls this year for hits. This game included.

there was just no reason to burn through Rondon and avilan so quickly, especially if frye was unavailable...and they still ended up having to use Minaya against v.martinez as a lhb even though he made it into a life or death situation in the top of the 7th.

Yep using 3 solid relievers and then having Minaya throw almost 50 pitches doesn't seem like a sound game plan. Just hope everyone is healthy.

Don't forget, he made two substitutions for pinch runners and then bunted, so he was still playing for one run (tie game).  If they had tied it in 8th, he was then down two of his more dangerous hitters.

Mind boggling stupid. I think he just likes to interject himself into the game at times. Tonight was a full blown disaster and I am sure Gardenhire and company were....
