So why is everyone making it seem so crazy? Mendick may not even have to be protected and Stephens should be up

I doubt Mendick would have to be protected. Stephens and Adams absolutely should be protected though.

And just wait until Avilan turns into another org top 30 guy in the coming days

NOt expecting any more Sox deals but BOS/SEA should be interested...Doubt Cedeno and Shields get moved

This is a pretty amazing resource, wow.

Looks like Cease, Kopech and Adams will need to be protected,  and then not much else to worry about, next offseason will be tougher.

Wonder if they will let Zavala go...

Any by that point the majority of these prospects should be up/in discussion to be up

We aren’t keeping both Avalin & Cedeno, at least one of them will be moved if not both.

Should be pretty easy to clear up 6-7 40 man roster spots as we trim the fat this offseason

Medieros will need to be protected, likely taking Clarkin's spot?

Are they done with Clarkin, or do you figure he's too far-gone to worry about anyone taking him.

Yea Clarkin is not going to be protected and won't be picked either.  Obvious decision for the Sox.  Stephens I'd imagine they will call up in September and they won't expose him again.   Hopefully the Sox can move Narvaez and a couple relievers before the deadline.

What's the deal with Zevala, he's injured?  According to that chart linked above he's Rule 5 eligible this offseason.  If the Sox can move Omar and he's healthy seems prudent to give him a cup of coffee.

Clarkin as had a rough year. He's pretty injury prone and has been too hittable in AA. His stuff does not profile well out of the bullpen either, given his low strikeout rate.

I doubt any team would pick Clarkin up if left unprotected at this point.

Clarkin's greatest contribution will forever be "the bessss" anyways.

Really like this return, like the player profile (really just medeiros, though, you'd assume Paddy liked the guy from DSL).

- Like helping out Brewers, they are fun

- Like Kodi, a lot.

Any possibility the velo dropped to gain control?

This is his write-up from MLB pipeline

Quote

The Brewers made Medeiros the highest-drafted prep to come out of Hawaii, selecting him 12th overall in 2014 after he blew away the club's front office during a pre-Draft workout at Miller Park. He's continued to impress with his pure stuff in the professional ranks, though the results have been uneven at times. After a rocky 2016 season at the Class A Advanced level that saw him miss time with back and groin injuries as well as the flu, Medeiros returned there in 2017 and showed bat-missing ability more on par with his stuff -- a trend that continued for him in 2018 in his first Double-A campaign.

Getting away from his low-three quarters arm slot in '16 cost Medeiros both velocity and life on his fastball. Bigger and stronger in '17, he looked more like his old self in the Carolina League, operating at 92-95 mph with a heavy fastball. His slider remains a plus pitch, one capable of inducing whiffs on both sides of the plate with its significant lateral break, and he'll also flash above average with his changeup, which has good sink and fade. Medeiros' control continues to be below average, but he was markedly better in that regard in '17, issuing a career-best 3.7 walks-per-nine, down from 6.7 the previous year.

The jury is still out on whether Medeiros, with his unique arm slot and underwhelming control profile, can remain a starter long term. The Brewers think he can, believing that the Hawaiian southpaw will eventually learn how to harness his dynamic three-pitch mix. If he can't, however, it's widely agreed on that Medeiros will have impact potential in a big league bullpen.
