Look at this kids’ slash line: .372/.419/.663/1.082 (206 wRC+) Unless it’s defense related, there is no other box to check off. This 21 year old kid is clearly ready for the show. And I’m all for doing what it takes (within reason) to maximize team control of a given player, but Eloy seems like the type of kid that would sign an extension early into his career. We know he took less to sign with the Cubs when he was an amateur free agent who had nothing. I think fathom is right and they will call this kid up prior to Tuesday’s game.
