Pitching development a problem?

When the rebuild started the system was heavy on pitchers and some sox fans wondered why Hahn wasn't more like Theo and invested on hitters.

But now it seems to be almost vice versa, the strength of the system is hitting (mostly outfield) and the pitching side doesn't look that great. Giolito and lopez werent good in the majors so far and fulmer had to be relegated to the pen.

Kopech seems to be good (although walks are a little high) but who will be the guys behind him? Hopefully it can be rendon but there are concerns.

Should the sox change minor league pitching coaching?

How do you know it's the minor league pitching coach struggling?  Most of the development issues people are focusing on are Giolito and Lopez. Everyone knew they had some big warts that could prevent them from being MLB quality starters. The problem is everyone on here keeps assuming Cooper is magical.  Since 2005, he should thank his lucky stars the Sox drafted a generational talent.

Not sure what you mean by the pitching side not looking great. They have 3 starters in Charlotte right now that are very close to being Major League ready and will probably have decent careers, one with potential to have multiple all-star seasons. We have a starter in Double-A right now in Cease that is absolutely dominating and in my opinion will be one of the pitchers that will be in the championship team's rotation. Hansen will eventually get his stuff together.

Then you have all of the minor league relievers that have ERA's in the 3s and below, including some in AAA, and we just obtained 3 more in the last 3 days, one of which will probably be in our major league bullpen by the end of the year. Then Burdi once he returns.

The pitching id doing just fine if you ask me.
