Bridgeport_Joe
Anyone know why he hasn't played so far?
aboz56
Playing with the U.S. qualifying olympic team I believe.
whitesox61382
Beat me to the punch. Hawkins, Cotts, and Majewski are the only Sox playing in the AFL this year. Last time I checked Hawkins was hitting .500 in 8 AB's, Cotts hadn't allowed a run in 2.1/3 innings, and Majewski had a 6 ERA with 4 walks in 2+ innings. Just to clear up it's Ryan Hankins not Hawkins.
winninguglyin83
Mitch Wylie is also pitching in the AFL. and if you believe the web site, Aaron Miles is slated to take Jeremy Reed's place he's not there yet, though.
Bridgeport_Joe
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Team USA starts competing in the AFL in a few days, right?
Chisoxfn
Ya...they are scheduled to play each AFL team twice I think.

Chisoxfn
Damn, I wonder if this guy can still pan out... would be a shame if he didnt. If he doesn't pan out this year then I don't see him panning out at least not in this organization.
winninguglyin83
i'd guess Rauch HAS to make the club in 2004 because he has to be close to being out of options. One more year, tops. didn't take it as good sign when he didn't get a chance in the bigs all season -- while Ginter, Cotts and Adkins did. and no september call up either. Ginter also has to be near the bubble.
MnSoxFan
Bikowski took Reed's place and played yesterday (hit a homer)

Chisoxfn
FYI, Cotts got hit hard in AFL yesterday. four runs in three innnings good news I don't believe he walked anybody I think its going to be hard to look at Cotts line and tell how he's doing since their main goal appears to be adding the cutter and improving his secondary pitches. winninguglyin83
probably so as long as he improves his command, it's a plus remember that Josh Stewart and David Sanders were lights out in the AFL last year, so stats aren't the end all. YASNY
The AFL is not the AL, but Stewart did not do badly before he got hurt. I think he would have gotten more than the 4 wins our combined 5th starter got.
