Jose Abreu
Welington Castillo is batting 2nd for Charlotte
flavum
No Eloy to start. Maybe he comes in for Castillo after a couple ABs.
BamaDoc
https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/prospects/stats/affiliates?date=08/17/2018 Perez another solid start in DSL. Castillo 1-1, Adams keeps getting outs with few strikeouts.
Jose Abreu
Eloy pinch hit single
Jose Abreu
Also, Ryan Cordell has been pretty solid since returning from injury
kwolf68
Hope Steele Walker keeps his mojo going. Last 3 games for Kanny, 4-11, 4 runs and 5 stolen bases.
SoxAce
Hansen.... MUCH better. Gonzalez and Madrigal are a combined 4-4 so far.
Chicago White Sox
Cease a bit wild to start tonight.
fathom
Cease strikes 3 guys out, but needs 42 pitches and gives up 1 run. That's quite the lengthy inning.
Timmy U
What a nightmare 1st for Cease 42 pitches. They fouled a ton off. He ended up striking out the side, but he'll be lucky to go 4 innings.

Just shows his talent though. Clearly does not have the feel for his pitches yet his stuff is so good he still gets K's.
SoxAce
On another note I said it before, but I really, really like Gonzalez.

Timmy U
Then Birmingham tied it in 2 pitches.

Timmy U
I was wrong. Cease is done after 1 inning.
fathom
oh boy, please be ok Cease. Wonder if he was dealing with soreness coming into the start as they pushed him back a day to tonight.
fathom
Madrigal has hit into 4 DP already in the minors. He's someone that it should be an automatic hit and run when he's up and someone is on first.
TheFutureIsNear
1 inning for Cease and 3 for Hansen. Very disappointing night

He didn't walk anyone in 3 innings and got a lot of swings and misses. You should be excited about this.

Yes, think it allows him to work more between starts but looks like it is helping 50 pitches, 33 strikes. No walks, 6 ks in 3ip. 4 hits 2 runs only downside but runs all in first. Would expect 3-5 innings or 60 or so pitches next time. Edited August 18, 2018 by BamaDoc punctuation
SoxAce
Nunez is demolishing rookie ball pitching now. Something has finally clicked with him.

Hey do you know when minor league control starts ticking for a guy like Nunez. He’s spent 4 years in the rookie leagues so does he only have 3 years left? He should see a one or two week promotion to Birmingham before the season ends like Eloy did. I guess the Dash are headed to the playoffs so maybe not, but I think he's clearly ready for a new challenge
