caulfield12
From the MLB.com site, seems that Kopech's velocity is in the 93-95 range this inning. Two-seamers? They're reading as four seamers, but 94.2 as the highest velocity seems a bit off. Edited September 6, 2018 by caulfield12

I hope these 20 innings he will pitch in september will be worth losing that extra year. Better than ending his season this past weekend. He will get more innings either way. caulfield12
Mahtook is like Davidson vs. KC, must have nearly all of his homers this year against the White Sox. 93.3 velocity on the homer, fwiw. Now the homer on a 78 MPH slider...I guess this one will get excused by coming back after a rain delay. ERA up to 3.21, should be 6 ER in 14 IP now. gusguyman
MLB has adjusted to Kopech. Time to see how well he adjusts back EDIT Although I guess its easier to adjust when his velo is down 3 mph or so Edited September 6, 2018 by gusguyman

caulfield12
He seemingly got mad and finally threw one at 96.1 MPH, which didn't have a good result, either. A little bit of a Chris Sale streak in him, there. Was he really thinking he could just dial it all the way down and be successful like Sale and Rodon have been in the past at lower velocities?

Jake
So far everything seems consistent with the Tigers zoning in on his fastball only and Kopech not having the usual power to make guys miss it. They've hit his fastball in predictable fastball situations, they've looked terrible when he locates his offspeed, and they've been able to kill his hanging offspeeds because they're being so aggressive.
