Yankees pitchers: Who will they move?

I've been thinking about the Yankees starting pitching situation. They have Boomer, Mussina, Contreras, Pettite, Hitchcock, ElDuque, Weaver and are apparently going to resign the Rocket. I know they are looking to move ElDuque and Hitchcock, but really, what kind of demand is there for those two? You can figure Mussina, Contreras and Clemens will be in pinstripes next year. That leaves Wells, Pettite and Weaver. Do you think they would move Pettitte and what would it take to get him? Any thoughts?

they are willing to unload hitchcock for nothing as well as pettite.

are they worth a look at from the sox?

Hitchcock's 2002 salary was $5M .... Way over paid. We won't pick him up. I hope!

Pettitte's 2002 salary was $8.5M. As good as Pettitte is, that's too rich for JR, too. Also, NY picked up his option for 2003, so it may even be higher. It's a shame, because he's just the type of pitcher we need.

Pettite would get the Yanks nothing in return (Look at Millwood after all) but the Yanks would also have to pick up about half of his salary.

I think the most viable bet would be them giving up El Duque for nothing. I think he's a bit more affordable, and at a cheaper price they could at least dump him.

THey won't find any takers for Pettite or Hithcock unless they pay most of the salary.

I agree Jas....El Duque is the only one that's really available....Hitchcock is, but who in the bluehell will trade for that bag of s***? I hope to god it's not us.

In other news, the Yankees payroll is at $140 million and will rise......HAHA. They'll have to unload more than $23 million and they can't do that. That's funny as hell. If they could move Mondesi, Posada and El Duque, that'd be around $26 million....too bad....they won't move Mondesi.

Hitchcock, over the last 3 years....

2000 - 11 games, 11 starts - 1-6, 4.93 ERA

2001 - 13 games(10 with Yanks), 12 starts(9 with Yanks) - 6-5, 5.63 ERA

2002 - 20 games, 2 starts - 1-2, 5.49 ERA

He's had an ERA below 4.00 once, and that was at 3.93 in 1998 with San Diego. The most games he's ever won in a season is 13. His career ERA is 4.77.

You wouldn't be mad if KW brought in that $6 million s***bag into Chicago? He's a bullpen pitcher, and that's all...and he's not even worthy of setting up or closing....so he ain't worth $6 frickin million. He sucks...he's worse than Ritchie and made twice as much as Ritchie did last year. I wouldn't take him if New York sent $5.9 million in cash....it wouldn't be worth it. He'd just take up space and that's it.
