southsider2k5
That means he is retiring, right? Reading between the lines here?

That the Sox training staff has caused some inordinate amount of injuries. Yes their injuries numbers have been up over the last 15 years, but no they aren't anywhere near bad or the worst teams when it comes to this. At worst, they are average. Dick Allen
Blaming injuries on trainers is hysterical. Abreu twists his balls and has an ingrown hair, surely a young Herm would have prevented it. Kopech blows out his elbow, fucking Herm. Robert injures his thumb sliding. WTF Herm? 3 2 3
aryzner
Good for him, good luck to him in retirement/semi-retirement. I'll miss seeing him in the dugout during broadcasts. He's been an awesome trainer for the Sox.

SoxAce
White Sox definitely had the best athletic trainer (staff really) out of the other Chicago sports teams (namely you Bulls). Let's hope the next guy hired can be even half as good as Herm was.

If were using injuries as a stat relative to the rest of the league, Herm Schneider is the greatest trainer of all time.
TaylorStSox
I have a hard time correlating injuries and the performance of a trainer, especially considering a lot of injuries are freak accidents. Now, I think you can correlate recovery with trainers, as trainers play an active role in how a player rehabs.
Jerksticks
I think ShotFire is trolling. Nobody could possibly think that; Herm is universally loved by everybody and has maybe the greatest track record of any trainer in the history of athletic activity.
bmags
If Herm (and to whatever extent the Herm/Cooper combo) wasn't on the southside at the very least you'd have to wonder if KW is still president. They made a much softer landing for that 05 team, and papered over the terrible depth that made them somewhat competitive in 09-12.

southsider2k5
Here is what I found: White Sox 24th of 30, which 1st is worst. https://www.rosterresource.com/mlb-disabled-list-tracker/ Sox were 8th lowest in MLB for 2018 in games lost to DL, including having someone almost die on the field in mid-April. https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/disabled-list/2018/cumulative-team/
