At least this is a distraction from all the chaos in the country/world these days, so there’s that.

And nearly everyone’s going to be completely burned out by the time this is all over if it drags into late January somehow.

Poor AJ Pollock has completely disappeared from the map while this is playing out.

Definitely only interesting if we got him at a solid discount.  If he's still barking up the $80m/5 tree, no way.  Someone will fold and cough up the cash though (looking at you Philly!)

I wonder if Pollock could be a guy that gets a Moustakas-type deal?

I doubt it.  Someone is bound to blink on that.  Atlanta is still looking for outfield help along with a number of other teams.

Worst case scenario he gets what McCutchen got.

On Monday Kaplan said that the Sox won't be outbid for one or the other and that while both guys are fine "in the room," Machado is better.

Kaplan has also said that Girardi would be the next Cubs manager and that they wouldn't be outbid for Tanaka. Like with Bruce Levine you have to take what he says with a large bag of salt.

Players really got played thinking the lower compensation will help. Teams feel just as reluctant for QO players as before.
