Royce Clayton is a good call I cant believe I forgot him. He was an awful player with a surly attitude. I remember when he would come to bat the entire home crowd would jeer him with chants of "M-V-P!" Sox fans definitely have an edge.

The only thing that was funnier was in the late 1970's some fans would hang out a huge bedsheet sign in left field that said "Washington Slept Here" to mock Claudell Washington's lack of interest in the game...

After Disco Demolition ruined the swampy field they poured a bunch of sand in right-center and Claudell was afraid to run over there to chase down the ball. That sign the next year was fabulous. Jimmie Piersall was looking for Steve Dahl to kick him one in the booty.

Honorable mention: Mark Kotsay. Nothing personal, I just hated his inclusion on the roster and everything it represented.

Kotsay stunk. Wow. So did that guy from the University of Nebraska, Erstad. My gosh those two guys were horrible.

Yep, part of the famed and now meme'd "KW always gets his man" era, where he'd sign "premium athletes" when they were 34 and slow, only to put them in positions that required them still to be premium athletes.

IIRC Kotsay was Ozzie's guy and was part of his rotating  DH idea. KW wanted to bring Thome back while Ozzie wanted the team to be more athletic which lead to Mark Kotsay, Andruw Jones who actually had a good year, and Omar fucking Vizquel getting ABs as the DH.

I swear Bartolo Colon doesnt get enough hate. The guy literally disappeared and went missing. I've never heard of anything like that. I hated that the Sox honored his contract after that.

I’m with you B>W,him being a media darling is gross to me.

I didn't remember KW wanting Thome back, but that's on brand, too. So sorry for that post, KW.

Actually I'm not sorry, KW, because you never should have let Ozzie talk you into that dumb shit. You were the boss.

Wasn't he legit injured though? Didn't he take a year off afterwards and undergo some sort of stem cell treatment in the DR?

Anyways I remember Guillen being his usual asshole self and going out of his way to make the situation worse. I'm more surprised Lawrie isn't on the list. The guy faked an injury to quit baseball.

Oh and Squires had 6 career home runs in 10 seasons as our everyday 1B.

John Danks

Mike Squires

Gordon Beckham (yeah I said it)

George Bell

Mark Teahen

Missed the cut but still couldn't stand:

Nick Swisher

Brett Lawrie

Gavin Floyd

Richie Zisk (not his fault really)

James Shields (mostly his fault)

I'm glad Teahen got some mention. Boy he was a bad hitter. Why'd you not like Zisk? He hit some roof shots and was pretty much the heart and soul of SouthSide Hitmen. George Bell had to be the only player in baseball history to b**** about playing time during the playoffs. My gosh, that's dysfunctional. I didn't hate the Dybber but hated what he did. Probably cost the White Sox a world series title that year. Yes his blunder was that bad. Hoyt wins Game Five EASILY.

Like I said it wasn't Zisk fault but who we gave up. We should have tried harder to resign Gossage.

Instead we got to watch him pitch the better half of a decade for the Yankees and get inducted into the HOF a Yankee.

Haha now this saddens me. I always thought you were being completely objective when you argued against Avi. Poor guy he may have been the ultimate tease but you really want to put him 1st over a guy who threw a World Series, wife beaters and a guy who tried to run down trick or treaters with his car ? ;)

Why do people hate Peavy (the player, not the SoxTalk member)? It wasn't his fault he got hurt.

Peavy was a bulldog who tried harder than everyone else. If you don't believe me, just ask him, he loved to talk abou it. Yet when he tried harder and harder, he kept pitching worse and worse when it mattered.
