Lightning
There is so much bias and favoritism in the baseball media. Based on the media it sounds like they think medium and smaller market teams shouldn’t even bother fielding a team. The MLB channel which you think would be somewhat balanced is continually heavy on 3-4 teams. You know who they are. The Media definitely don’t want the White Sox signing Machado or Harper because they have already decided where Harper and Machado are going.

What makes them more money?
Quin
Baseball just needs to have a bigger distinction between reporters and analysts But also stuff will always be inherently biased in sports reporting. Garfein and crew badly want Harper/Machado because they're Sox fans, but also because they know it'll do great for business.

MLB Network isn't a gift to the fans. It's a network that is out to make money, and is trying to appeal to their biggest audiences. If appealing to all 30 teams equally meant making them more money, they would be doing it. You know what would get the media to "want" Bryce Harper or Manny Machado to sign with the White Sox? If the White Sox somehow found a way to be relevant once the last decade, aside from not letting Drake LaRoche in the locker room, and their all-star pitcher cutting up jerseys. Perfectly said, and also more reason this feels like if the Sox can lock up one of these guys, it can be a watershed moment for the organization. Outside of 2 innings by Kopech and Abreu's walk off slam against Tampa, what has really happened positively for this organization over the last 5 or so years? That desperately needs to change. whitesoxwinner
Imo the media members are worried about the game dying, and I think they're all hopeful these guys go to a big market in hopes of saving the game

They're all going to say "x" player wants to win.
Lightning
You want to expand the game. You balance and get more teams involved. You’ll still have you Yankee, Red Sox , Cubs and Dodger fans. They were taking expansion. Why? So Portland or Vegas could be another team good once every 20-25 years. All of this media is in the business of making money. Propping up the White Sox doesn't do that.

Jake
I've been seeing plenty of positive attention for the Sox on MLBN lately.

They're better off waking a sleeping fanbase with him signing somewhere like the south side. White Sox fans love a winner and they'll go to games and watch games on TV for a winner. I would say so too. also, who cares? 15 years ago it was even worse with baseball writers cheering for story lines and traditional tropes. There are way more awesome baseball writers to follow now than worrying about getting mad about what some some former player segment on mlbn says. Dick Allen
Ken Rosenthal HOF ballot. Proof positive he has a problem with the White Sox. Notice all the guys who played on the South Side. Notice the lack of checks by their names. 0 for 8. JK
