Good way to describe it, but I don't feel like I wasted 90 minutes. I sort of enjoyed it. Melissa McCarthy is so damn funny. It seems like she's ad-libbing a lot but who knows? Her delivery is damn funny.

Two questions: 1.) Now that I have netflix any suggestions? I am thinking of watching the Robert Downey movie The Judge. Should I watch it?

Also I am a big fan of the Planet of the Apes series. Is the one that comes out May 10 worth seeing? Is it true this one is Disney? Is it expected to be lousy or good? I thoroughly enjoyed the past 3. Is this Apes movie gonna be Disney woke or something or should I be excited to see it like I was the others?

Thanks and peace out,

Be aware:  The Apes all drive EVs and practice DEI measures to out-compete the humans.

I have a hobby of counting all the SUV's in parking lots at airports and on the road when driving. And I chuckle driving around Lawrence and counting the number of charging stations we have (a handful at best) and then marvel at how our many gas stations are ALWAYS packed. Me thinks spoiled peeps are not gonna react well to the EV demands.

Kingdom of Planet of the Apes was horrific. Second worst movie I've ever seen. I was worried when I heard the people in charge of the last 3 Ape movies which I just loved were not involved with this project. At one point I nodded off for five minutes. The movie was sophomoric compared to the genius of the last 3 Ape movies. The ending of this movie was disgusting in its raw stupidity and simplicity compared to the utter genius endings of the other Ape movies. Sickening.

Was thinking of jumping back on the horse and going to Fall Guy. Should I? Is it good or just OK?

Is the movie industry dead? It seems to me there are no blockbusters anymore. The previews I saw before watching the ridiculously offensively bad, sophomoric Planet of The Apes were all sleep inducing borefests. I know Covid hit and the woke madness hit but you'd think movie going would never go out of style. I guess it has.

Just stumbled across a 50 plus year old movie on plain You Tube that still stands up for horror lovers, The Night Stalker.  Think it came out in 1972.  Three networks then and it was the highest rated movie of the week at the time.  One of the better depictions of a vampire.  Darren McGavin was perfect.

That was such a great movie. They did a 2nd made-for-TV movie - a follow up - The Night Strangler, set in Seattle. That triggered an order for a TV show. I think McGavin got tired of it, in that it really got away from the original vibe. They only did one season.

Watched Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire on Max this weekend.  I'm glad I didn't pay to go see it in the theater.  It was basically an American version of the cheesy Japanese Godzilla movies from the 60s and 70s.  No plot, completely forgettable human characters, and lots of monsters.  The villain monster was pretty boring, too.  After the first and second Godzilla movies being pretty serious in tone, this cheesy, campy effort was disappointing overall.

Saw Alien: Romulus yesterday.  Really enjoyed it.  It's a solid entry in the franchise.  I would say it was one of the scarier and gorier entries, and the "final boss" alien was pretty cool.

Another big ape as the bad guy? Yeah, that was stupid.
