Yep, there's literally not one thing you can point to now and say "they do this aspect well".  Even the "magic" of Cooper seems like ancient history.

And the magic of Herm Schneider, keeping players healthier.

Now we're just stuck with Benetti's attempts to be funnier than he really is and chummier with a former professional athlete in Stone than he has earned the right to be.

Harper signing with someone else. Jerry Reinsdorf selling the team to Loria.

To be honest though, it's somewhat refreshing to feel something different than shame and indifference which have dominated over the past 10 years.

If we sell watch for Mark Cuban. He put a 1.3 billion bid on the cubs before the rickettes pulled it off. Hed love the challenge of chicago

Herm is one of the most overrated guys in the business. His magic has faded, just like Coop's.

i'M ACTUALLY NOT UPSET AT ALL ! Seriously I'm not. This is the dispassionate reality of the situation and has been for a while. Once in a while we get thrown a bone and we all salivate thinking things have changed but we never get thrown continuance bones. Sustained success ? Please right now all the talk is just blah blah ,blah blah blah, blah, blah blah blah.

I think you just came up with a new marketing phrase for the next Brooks Boyer...that's GOOD.

Our Milk Bone dog biscuits get gobbled up by the rabid dog (think To Kill a Mockingbird) down the street before our puppy can even reach them.

That would be glorious. I don't think baseball owners like him though, so I doubt they'd let him in their club.

That was the long-winded way of saying he thinks Manny would have been unhappy here....and I agree.

He also seems to be hinting that he would rather pay that much for Harper...

”a face on and off the field, a leader, a brand”?

That is Harper, not Machado.

Jerry will never sell to Cuban.  Never. In fact Cuban buying the Mavs was a 29-1 vote, Jerry against,  IIRC.

It won’t be Mark Cuban. He’s done investing in sports teams. He’s a heavy investor in online gaming now and thinks that’s the future.
