Welp, you sold me -- let's collect dog shit so that we attract a real prize.

Seriously tho -- I'm cool with it if it nets us the big dog... I hate the strategy of it tho.... you don't see a team like the Yankees pulling this to get Machado. This is clown-style strategy. This will be my last negative post here. Let's go GET MACHADO!

The Yankees won 100 games last year and are his desired location, we have the most losses in the MLB over the last six years.  Did you really think we could replicate their sales pitch?

So the one thing that does worry me is this is the White Sox we are talking about. I’d be lying if I said there isn’t a part of me thinking this is a rash move by the Sox, they don’t feel like they are in the drivers seat so they are pulling out last ditch efforts to try and help. Or they think they don’t need to offer the top bid because they have his buddies.

I don’t think that’s the case, but it also wouldn’t shock me.

Your second point is my main worry

Money is the deciding factor, grabbing his league average buddies shouldn't be. W'Sox need to put on their big boy pants, offer him a respectable contract (and not pocket the surplus money from a team with such low player salaries) and they have him.

What if these guys are the “lack of competing” tax the Sox have to pay instead of spending stupid money?

League average is a big upgrade over much of the shit we’ve trotted out there recently.

Look, if the Sox made an formal offer, then the total dollars aren’t the issue. There could be other issues, but I doubt it’s money.

The Sox suck right now and it would be nice if Machado could enjoy a bad year with some friends. I suspect that’s why they are doing this.
