Rankin
Is this some kind of sick joke? On the same day the Sox lost out on Manny Machado, the organization announced that Luis Alexander Basabe will miss time with an injured left hand. It may not be all bad, as a couple young arms are ready to go in 2019, while Jake Burger continues his rehab. What were your reactions following the Basabe injury?
bmags
Since I know asking for injury free from now on is too much, I will just ask for preference for health from our pitchers.
southsider2k5
There is a thread for the Basabe stuff, but I am glad to hear that Dunning and Burdi got an all clear so far.
caulfield12
Is Basabe really out 12 weeks? That can't be right...
kitekrazy
Our luck Manny would have gotten injured.

JR probably would have preferred that outcome, he could get all the season ticket monies, parking, concessions, jersey sales/merchandising and still collect 60-65% on the insurance policy. I jest. Well, sort of. That would actually work a lot better for Bryce Harper than Machado. Edited February 22, 2019 by caulfield12

Reports suggest Basabe will resume baseball activities 4-to-6 weeks post-surgery, followed by another 4-to-6 weeks of rehab before being deemed 100%. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/white-soxs-luis-alexander-basabe-suffers-broken-hand/
ChiSox59
Sucks on Basabe. He is probably the most interesting young OF on the 40 man not named Eloy that actually had a shot to play in the big leagues this season.
