For sure, this bodes well for a write-in All Star candidate. Mendick walks, second baserunner of the game. Robert up. Luis flies out to LCF, 3/10 now. Chacin out of the game, thank god. Thanks KW/Hahn, some truly uplifting stuff to hang our hats on. As to your point, sure, just like Chacin pitching just like he did last year on a playoff team is completely coincidental. Believe as you wish. This game (so far) isn’t causing anyone to look forward optimistically to the season in any facet, or line up at the ticket office. Period. Spring is supposed to be the season of hope, not despair. listening to Eucker retell the Covey (original Brewers’ pick before the diabetes diagnosis sabotaged him) story...that’s entertaining/uplifting, at least. Many argued that Giolito was all set to dominate based on how well he looked at the end of 2017 and with increased velocity in ST 2018.

If it happens to be right out of the gate, that is what I worry for the collective mental health of the fanbase. If Eloy comes up and struggles until August or September, the entire fanbase will collectively lose their shit, prove JR right, that this fanbase can't take a rebuild, and we will be doomed to another decade plus of mediocrity as they trade all of their talent away for a "quick fix" and end up with a 72-78 win team again, while their young players go flourish in other organizations. I warn everyone, don't lose your patience or you will be sorry.
