Ducksnort
Just frustrating to watch. All of this talk about "ride with us or die" and "shit or get off the pot," yet I see errors, pitchers getting behind constantly, throws getting away, no pressure on the basepaths, hitters not working counts,...yeesh

Velocity can be down early in the season for a lot of reasons, weather being one. Jones velocity has been depleted by about 200 injuries. Yes Sale is finished. When you've been injured as much as Sale has the last two seasons it isn't out of the question. Boston may have messed up by signing Sale to that deal. I looked at the link in that fangraphs article and they say it takes 3 starts to gauge fastball velocity.

Jake
I don't see any reason to be down on Jace Fry this year vs the usual "you never know about relievers" kind of thing. He has good stuff and was nails last year.

Nah, you see, he allowed a hit and a walk today, so not only will he suck this year, but he sucked last year as well. 2
Jose Abreu
That inning wasn't even on Fry anyway. It was more Banuelos/Jones, Fry just allowed the one hit
Jake
FWIW, Statcast gives the Soler double an expected batting average of .230. Just placed it perfectly and didn't hit it super hard

Loyalty is paramount in this organization, unless you’re the best hitter in team history and one of the best in MLB history.
