ScootsMcGoots
Mariners are 7-1. Kikuchi starting for them, Lopez for us. I am cautiously optimistic about this one, but hopefully this will be a good showing for the fans. Also, weird lineup today. Leury, Anderson, Abreu, Castillo, Moncada, Eloy, Yonder, Rondon, Engel is the starting lineup. 1:10 central start time. Go Sox! I would honestly keep Yoan in the 2-spot (even against lefties) until he has a stretch where he looks awful.

Princess Dye
Potential star player has a big day (Yoan) and i buy a ticket. Star player good. Fans come when star player hit. White Sox brass take note of this
ChiSox59
Would have preferred: Leury 2B, Moncada 3B, Abreu 1B, Eloy LF, Castillo C, Anderson SS, Rondon DH, Cordell 9, Engel 8 What does Cordell need to do to get a start? Sox don't seem to be too concerned about limiting Alonso's PA with him starting against LH starter.

Chisox378
Why such a poor and strange lineup, none of our batter have even faced this pitcher before. Batters arent going to know their roles. Why is Yonder way down in the lineup? Does Ricky make these lineups or is he pushed by someone else? Just wondering? Alonso is down because he sucks vs. LHP, but Palka sucks worse vs. LHP so that is why Alonso is in the lineup. Chisox378
Yonder is a career .232 hitter vs. Lefties. There is something though about leaving a player in the same lineup spot so he knows his role,
Chisox378
On second thought, Ricky is really playing the lefty righty matchups well. Lets hope Yonder can get it going vs. Lefties so he can be moved up into a normalized spot at 4 or 5.
YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!
That lineup is horrid. This would have been much better IMO Anderson Moncada Abreu Eloy Castillo Alonso Rondon Sanchez Engel
chitownsportsfan
The lineup is fine. It's the 25 man roster that needs work.
BackDoorBreach
I'd really like it if Moncada stopped getting bounced around like that. It does mess with your routine/rhythm.

Thats true too and a good point. Even if he can slash singles, walk, and steal batting right handed in the #2 spot would benefit him.

I'm glad they brought Ruiz up looking at this stats last year in AA and reading some about his work this spring he should be an asset as a swing man to get to Colome and Herrera. But in all seriousness, this could just be Ricky showing off our big offseason in front of the opening day crowd. I’ll start getting concerned if he’s in the lineup against the next LH starter.
