There’s not been a single development he’s made since he got here. I mean you can't wave away what was on balance a pretty solid season last year. And for better or worse his repertoire has changed quite a bit since laving Washington
Boopa1219
We should keep track of how many runs Renteria cost the Sox/give to the opposing team.

His slider was significantly better on the Nats. He looks like a totally different pitcher, in a bad way, from his Nats days.

Jack Parkman
Just now, fathom said: His slider was significantly better on the Nats. He looks like a totally different pitcher, in a bad way, from his Nats days. He didn't have a slider. He only threw a curveball. The weird thing is both Giolito and Lopez have both picked up a slider and completely lost their curveballs since joining the Sox. I really don't know why they taught Giolito a slider because he didn't need it. His curve was always ++ before he got here.

Gotta do a better job trying to avoid guys like this in the future. I think now that in hindsight all the talk about Lopez as a reliever was mostly due to his mental lapses and sustaining himself over 6-7 innings mentally. Reinsdorf doesn"t pay for top notch scouts. He relies heavily on the opposing team's evaluation and gets played a lot. The Sox just got a bunch of Nats teases and headaches for Eaton. Moncada trying hard to salvage the Sale trade.
