southsider2k5
The Hawks travel out to Denver for a game against the traveling all-star team known as the Avalanche. Now we will see what the Defense and T-Bo are worth.
SAVVY18
The only thing we can hope for is a soft goal early. Then we can play defensively and hope to contain them. I just don't want to see us blown out. T-bo is going to have to be HUGE and the team has to play disciplined. You don't want to take a penalty against this team. I used to hate Colorado with a passion because of Roy Boy. I hate him. :fyou ROY BOY. Now that he is gone, I really like that team. I have liked Sacic from his Quebec days. Forsberg is phenomenal and they have the owner and front office you can be proud of.

The Critic
I don't know about all of that, how hard is it to go out and buy players every year? It's harder for some owners than others....just ask Tightwad Bill Worst!!!
aboz56
Colorado may be one helluva team, but this buzz about Kariya and Selanne together is a bit of overkill if you ask me. I love them both, but when they were with the Ducks together, I never remember them going anywhere.... Go Hawks.
BridgeportHeather
If our forwards intensely forecheck, I think this game'll be a lot closer than one may think it will be, and could go our way.
SAVVY18
[i don't know about all of that, how hard is it to go out and buy players every year? If you look at their roster, their core guys have been with their Organ-I-zation for years. They have actually built their team from the bottom up and even though they have consistently low draft picks, they always get a good player to step into the lineup. That also affords them the luxury to trade away that young talent for a more experienced veteran, who they do usually sign after the "rental" period is up. Since their biggest rival is Detroit(SUCKS), they have recently had to go out and spend some big $$$ on F.A.'s, but nowhere near what Detroit(SUCKS) has had to do. Also, it isn't always the money that is spent, but how it is spent. Last year, the Hawks had almost 10 million tied up in Korolev, Krapo, Simon, Fleury, Eastwood. That is wasted money. They were/are useless players. I would rather them spend that $10 million on 1 impact player that would make a difference. Colorado maximizes their $$ by signing good players who do in fact produce. That all has to do with the front office and scouting. Have a good weekend everyone and GO HAWKS and :fthecubs
DBAHO
I see a 4-0 Avalanche win, but lets hope the Hawks shock everyone and get a big W tonight. I also dont have much of a hatred for the Avs, as Savvy said, there core players are home grown with Forsberg, Sakic, Tangay, Hejduk, and I beleive Foote. If Abesheier can step it up this year, there is no reason for them really not to set some records this year. i was pretty close with the perdiction... hmm, i put 50 bucks on colorado to win da championship if they keep puttin up more performances like that

Well, it won't be Curtis Joseph - there's no WAY the Wings would deal with the Avalanche! The Avs would have to arrange a split-level trade with a third team to try and trick Detroit into dealing CuJo to the third team, then Colorado would acquire him from them. What other championship-calibre goalie is available, in your view?

Now we will see what the Defense and T-Bo are worth. After that miserable performance I'd say they aren't even worth a bag of pucks. I think next time I'm in town I'll spend my money on a Wolves game. At least they care about winning. BTW Did I read it right that they only drew 13000 or so for the home opener? Just more proof about how much damage has been done to the fan base since the JR giveaway in 1996.
NUKE_CLEVELAND
Wirtz has singal handedly taken Hockey out of Chicago. Pretty tough task to do, but looks like he did a pretty good job. :fyou $ Bill. :fyou If you went to a Hawks game 10 or 15 years ago you would never, in your worst nightmares, could have imagined a Hawks team this bad and a the experience of going to a game this bad. Not only have they f***ed over all their good players and run them out of town, they even f***ed over Wayne Messmer for Christ sakes. They don't hit anymore, they don't score anymore, they don't play D any more and they damn sure don't fight anymore. What's the f***ing point? Now the only time they can draw is when St. Louis or Detoilet comes to town and Hawk fans are out numbered and out cheered by the outsiders. He hit (and hard too! he put Steve Chaisson through the glass at the old Stadium) , he scored a s***load of goals, he fought sometimes, talked a lot of s*** in the press, he was the heart of the team. He also was the first in a conga line stretching from 1996 till now to be f***ed by Dollar Bill.
