KnightsOnMintSt
Someone that I know with knowledge of the situation tells me that Jimenez is expected to miss at least 6 weeks. Unfortunate, but not surprising.

Quin
No offense, but I'm editing the title from "BREAKING" until this is verified by the team or a news outlet
Look at Ray Ray Run
High Ankle Sprain, which this seems to be, is about 6 weeks.
ChiSox59
Sounds about right to me. It sucks, but is what it is now. Should help the tank. Get Nicky some more at bats. Really hope this doesn’t lead to Engel in CF most days.
chitownsportsfan
well duh. it's a high ankle sprain. he'll start running in about 3-4 weeks (jogging really) then cutting in about 5-6 and maybe do a few days down in the minors then he'll be back up. Sucks but he'll be back around the 2nd week of June maybe a bit earlier
Goober
Darn there's 5 xbh out of the lineup. My condolences on the injury however. 1

Lip Man 1
As I posted from what trainers and doctors have told me depending on how bad the sprain it is usually between six weeks and three months (without surgery)

bmags
Sox should just put him in a cryogenic freezer for a few years. Best way to preserve value.

Timmy U
Ugh. I really believe Adam Engel has a collection of voodoo dolls which will keep him in the majors until the end of time.
The Sir
Yeah, I was optimistic about his bat, and suppose I still am. But his defense is embarrassingly bad. The decision to jump kick the wall was insanely idiotic. I have toned down on Eloy a bit, because with his glove, I don't know how he's ever more than a 3 WAR player. That's a lame result for a bat that good.

ChiSox59
Just now, Harper2Sox said: He’s worth even less if he never plays due to injury. DH him. Now is not the time to make Eloy a DH. The Sox can always do that later. Please stop banging this drum for the time being.
Lip Man 1
Saw video tonight where before the game Eloy was on bended knee throwing on the sidelines without his walking boot. He said it was "uncomfortable." Very, very surprised the Sox are letting him do this (especially after the Burger situation...) as in taking the boot off and trying to do something. It only takes him to stumble once or lose his balance and twist that ankle again and the situation could get a lot worse.
jenksycat
Should never sniff an outfield again. He makes Viciedo look like Griffey.
tray
Eloy made some nice plays in Right Field in the minors. We stole him from the Cubz. That may be the worst trade Epstein has ever done since he was in Boston. Thank you! I hope Eloy watches his weight and stays in shape. If he does, he will be in our outfield for years to come. Eloy and Luis Robert...what a great tandem in the outfield. Edited April 30, 2019 by tray spelling
JuliusO1274
Can't believe so many want Eloy at age 22 to be forced into a DH role already. Manny Ramirez and many other offensive superstars had no problems putting up big WAR numbers despite their defense.
Southwest Sider
There's always room for improvement defensively. A long time ago, I remember lamenting Carlos Lee's defense in LF. He never did become elite, but as far as the eye test went, he did become passable. Sometimes he even made "great" plays. It's way too early to give up on Eloy in LF. He does need to learn that he's not Adam Engel though. Edited April 30, 2019 by South Sider
greg775
This is about a worst case scenario, him getting hurt already. Oh well, probably best to just shut up and forget about him for 6 weeks. Hopefully that was a fluke injury and he'll be healthy the rest of his career.
