Vieira‘s stuff certainly looks intriguing.

He's always had the stuff. The thing with him is he had 0 clue on where it was going... even his fastball. He certainly looks more under control with everything now.

I think the first will be Collins but it's all dependent on Alonso either starting to hit so he gets traded or being so bad that he gets cut.

There is basically no market for guys like Alonso anymore. He’s going to end up being a minor league deal next year.

Not if the Sox don’t remember to bench him

Preach. It's baseball, not football. I'll never understand the people who get upset over these things. The Sox swept the 90 win Rays in Tampa last summer, too.

The Sox aren't the Rays; they aren't the Yankees.  They aren't the Padres or Phillies or Twins.   They are a heck of a lot closer to the Orioles than to any of those teams. Today is not an anomaly.  It's what they are.  And it's inexcusable.

Alonso will be traded, if I had to guess. There's definitely a market for a 1B/DH whose xOPS right now is somewhere in the .830s.

If they are closer to the Orioles then wouldn‘t losing against them make it more excusable if anything. ?

What's inexcusable is that they ARE this close to the Orioles.  This is a "perpetual rebuild" if things don't change. Hahn has either failed to build the infrastructure or has refused to, not wanting to bother since he has a lifetime contract.

Hopefully the one who has pitched like shit since jump

That would be Ruiz. He has potential but he's got to come up with a quality breaker. The slider isn't doing it. He should experiment with other offspeed pitches
