Jack: I don't follow your reasoning.  Rodon has pitched slightly better than Lopez and Giolito this season. All 3 have been pretty mediocre. Why do you see Rodon as the worst of the 3?

He's been around the longest, he's been injured, and has a history of not throwing strikes and going past the 5th inning. He isn't the same guy he was before his shoulder injury. I'm not sure he can get by at 90-93. His fastball command is nowhere near good enough.

Quite frankly, I still see room for growth with Giolito and Lopez but I don't see any with Rodon.  There is some deterioration of stuff with Rodon after his injury, but that is to be expected.

Problem we tried to tell you after he was acquired is he wouldn’t be able to give the innings because he was going to get shelled in the AL.

I have argued in the past I don't like NL pitchers and hitters so I was hoping for the best and I still am hoping he has some positive regression. Obviously doesn't look good now but there's really been nothing in the last 3 years to indicate he'd be this bad. Basically all he was doing was replacing SHields and I did expect a Shields like year without the all walks.

I'm not always right  but I'm not wrong yet until we see how the rest of his year goes. If he lasts a whole year

Lack of strikeouts was a huge red flag

If Nova was giving a 4.60 ERA and going 6 innings each start it would be fine. He's more like 2016 Shields.

He was 56 out of 57 last year for qualified starters in K rate

You are expecting too much for $9 million dollars.  Be happy with an 8.49 ERA.
