CWSOX45
Thank god for it, when I need to escape from the "cubbie" love fest I can simply come here and speak my own mind and what I'm thinking. The whole world all of a sudden has fallen in love with the Cubs, and I think I speak for everyone here when I say it makes me sick. However it's good to know that I can come here and talk to fans that have similar emotions and feelings I do. So to all the posters here, keep the faith. Even though the present seems dark and dreadful I am still optimistic that sometime in the future things will get better, hell it can't get any worse. CWSOX45 oh yes it can, if the cubs win 6 more games I've almost come to accept that the Cubs are gonna win the world series. It's sad but I'm at that point. I'm prepared for it and if it happends I'll deal with it and move on. CWSOX45

DonkeyKongerko
oh yes it can, if the cubs win 6 more games 6 more games. This thought is really troubling to me. I mean six games is not a whole lot, even for the Cubs.

If they win the World Series, which it seems like they will, it is going to be a long winter for wearing Sox stuff. I say wear it with pride and just brush off stupid attacks. I sure pray the Cubs fall short on something gutwrenching that it just tears the hearts out of Cubs fans. :fthecubs
SnB
I have gone out w/ my sox hat and cork t shirt this entire week, gotten some pretty interesting comments. And every single co-worker/ student/ family non-sox fan that knows I'm a sox fan has giving me crap these last 2 weeks........why can't this stop? (They also say I should root for the cubs because I'm from chicago, what fair-weathered fans we have in this city.....you pick a team and stick with 'em!) Someone actually threatened to kill me for wearing my "cork" t-shirt. This is getting out of hand, I wish Florida would put an end to this. Oh yeah, I have gotten so many phone calls and emails from everyone back home who always bring up the Sox first, then gloat about the Cubs. It is just starting to annoy me so bad. Now I am starting to rip many people apart about being 'fairweather' fans and they shut the hell up. Wearing Sox stuff here doesn't make the same impact as in Chicago too, I couldn't imagine what that area is like right now, I am atleast sheltered. BridgeportHeather
The good thing that lies ahead, however, is that IF the Cubs make it to the World Series, they have to face either Boston or New York. The Yankees would just shrug off the Cubs, winning it in five games. Boston's got a stacked lineup, which would get to Wood and Prior. It helps that the AL team has home field advantage for the World Series, thanks to Hank Blalock! :fthecubs

Yes, you are lucky to be sheltered...Here at ISU, it's going CRAZY! I bet it wouldn't even get HALF this crazy if this were our Sox...My god, it's so loud outside; can this f***ing STOP? A side note: There's a statue of a football player to the north of Redbird Arena here on the ISU campus. After the Cubs eliminated Atlanta Sunday night, a few Cubs fans turned such statue into Kerry Wood, using cardboard for the front and back of the jersey, placing a pizza box on its head with the red Cub "C" on it...Well, walking home from work tonight after the game finished, I passed the statue and tore off the cardboard that was the back of Wood's jersey, tore it up into pieces, and threw it out in the trash! That felt good, but it still was the loneliest walk ever from work to my dorm room.

That's smart. I had neighbors who were huge asses, they still live next door but I am not home. They would yell at me and my brother for riding our bikes on the sidewalk, I was about 7. They were just huge asses. No matter what we did, they always found someway that we did something wrong. I can't stand 'em.
