Yoan could use a day off...might as well do it when they face Carrasco

You keep repeating this yet conveniently ignore that he has been really good these past two series. Just because someone has one bad game doesn't mean that he needs a day off. He reached base 3x yesterday and 2x the day before.

Don't look now, but Moncada is plummeting down to Earth. .277 BA with .823 OPS. On April 29th, he had a K-rate of 22.6%, but in May it's been 35.7%, climbing to 26.9% overall. Really hope he's not abandoning the adjustments which made him so lethal in April.

Pitchers are making adjustments and attacking him differently. He will have to do the same.

The dude is always going to strike out a lot. That will never change.

Look at his entire month. Batting .222 with a .627 OPS and a 33% k-rate, and that's not including today.

Sure, but there's a big difference between 217 times in 650 PAs (33.4%) and, say, 170 times in 650 PAs (26.2%). The latter will be considered to "strike out a lot" but can be a solid or even player. The former is not going to be worthwhile, and certainly won't be what we want or need out of Yoan.

You can tell he’s dinged up, even Benetti mentioned it.  There’s no harm in giving him a day off.  You rest him Tuesday and then have him eventually get two straight days off.

Dude wasn't gonna hit 350 all season. He was due for regression. It will balance itself out.

Current version of Yoan doesn’t have the hit tool to be a .300 hitter. If he hits in the .265 range with extra base hit capabilities, walks and steals, then he will be a good player.

I agree. Let's see where he is at come the end of the year. There will hopefully be nice improvement in the K numbers.

Dude has proven so far to be a streaky hitter and he is in a major funk right now.

True but it’s also balancing out because he’s striking out way too much again.  Good things happen when he makes contact.

Again, I have no clue how one bad game = major funk. He was on a hot streak entering today for crying out loud
