ron883
Dude throws 96 mph gas with good sink from the left side. Have the Sox found their next dominant left handed pitcher?
Lip Man 1
Still to early to call one way or the other. He was terrible last season, he's unhittable this season. Who knows for sure.

Sure is nice when the pitcher coming into the game is someone you have confidence in. Bummer and Colome are that for most of us. Marshall and Burr pre injury have also been good. Blackout Friday
I’m curious what prime Thornton’s spin rate was on his 4 seamer.
Harold's Leg Lift
Last year was there a Fry = Thornton 2.0 thread? Relievers are volatile.
Pat M.
I would like to see what he could do as a starter. They could sure use more starting pitching.
poppysox
It wouldn't hurt if Ricky tried this new idea of a reliever starting the game. Covey and Banuelos look like ideal candidates for trying out this concept. Edited June 4, 2019 by poppysox
BigHurt3515
He needs to be used more. He went through a 5 game stretch of not pitching. I think he has 3 appearances in I believe the last 10 games
CaliSoxFanViaSWside
If the Sox move Colome he could be the new closer as rare as that is for left handers.

Even if you insist on ERA 4.26 is hardly terrible.

This. His BABIP was .402 last year, this year he’s at .167. HR rate was still low at 0.28; this year it’s 0.00. K/9 was 9.95; this year 7.80. His FIP was 2.40 last year, this year 2.42.
