Guest wsc425
Text Due to Mark Buehrle's success over the past few years, what do you think should be the raise over his 310,000 dollar salary? Wsc425

witesoxfan
So give him more than Barry Zito money...he's given us 2 very good years as a starting pitcher....so he deserves $5-$6 million a year. Or even more

It may be a fair deal for him, but he wants more....I'd give him $4 mill a year, but I would even consider $5-$6 million....as I said above. Molto
umm, you are going soley by what KW said on the radio the otehr day, but it was also reported back in November taht the Sox offered him 3 yr and 10 mil and he rejected it. so a report in november and KW saying on the radio just a few weeks ago that they offered him Zito/Hudson money, although he never said the amount. I think the offer happened.

If that was offered and he rejected it, he's a fool. That is why I don't think it was an actual offer..... maybe a number batted around by Buehrle and his agent which JR scoffed at. I don't see the White Sox offering Buehrle anything more than 7 million over 3 years.

Given the history of relative cheapness out of this Organization and JR's opinion on signing SP's, one can practically guarantee the "Zito-money" offered to MB was in the ballpark but was not at or above what Zito makes. KW is already staking his claim to the "don't-blame-me-that-MB-is-gone" moniker.
