They must have planned on Allan signing. 3rd round slot is $667K. They are likely giving Allan close to $4 million. If Allan chooses not to sign, they'd lose $667K but they could still offer Barco the remaining the 3.3 million they had allotted to Allan.

Baty will likely sign for around slot of $4.37 million Wolf should be at least at or slightly above slot of $1.37 million Allan reportedly is asking for $4 million, way above the $667k slot I am not seeing enough savings anywhere to get to $4 million, let alone Barco
GenericUserName
Oh, Butler is interesting http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/profile.asp?ID=195937 Looks like he was good, got injured before his junior year and missed it, then struggled when he came back as a RS JR and finally put it back together this year. I do like the K numbers though in the sample size. Edited June 5, 2019 by SoxAce

That was what I originally wrote as a placeholder for Butler before I was going to go back and add something more substantive, but I think it works pretty well without much else. Also, “get less wild” makes me laugh for some reason. Butler’s stuff is really good, so the impetus to get him those innings and improve his control is even greater than if he was just a short righthander with pedestrian talent. At his best, Butler can reach the mid-90s (94-95 mostly) with a pair of offspeed pitches that will show above-average (78-80 slider, 79-82 change). My guess is Baty is taking just under $3 million, Wolf getting $1 million and Allan close to $4 million.
SoxAce
Some guys already reaching agreements with their teams. I know Tigers already signed Riley Greene. Kaplan is reporting Cubs signed Ethan Hearn for 2nd round money.

bmags
Tyler Osik, son of former big league catcher Keith Osik, from UCF. Looks like he straight up rakes. He's my vote for Great Falls bat we get way too excited about before it turns into a pumpkin the next year: https://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/shoreham-wading-river-s-tyler-osik-once-bullied-he-built-himself-into-a-mlb-prospect-1.18901301 https://d1baseball.com/player/y0Jyo50e/tyler-osik/ Kinda sad story above. Yeah, nice profile with his bat, but I think the Tommy John he had in 2016 is why he is listed as a first baseman. Definitely agree that he profiles well for rookie ball.
