How about the front office remove the relic of a pitching coach that has consistently produced bad staffs the last 6 years or so and seemingly refuses to accept how baseball is played now?  When I made the post, that was more of what I was focusing on when I said there is no real hope for actual change.

This is a move I would love to see.  Get Buehrle to take the job.  I love pitchers who understand a fast pace with aggression can help a guy not overthink it.

You can fire Renteria, but keeping Cooper is defensible.  Sorry, it just is.

I get your point, but we have to stop acting like the rebuild isn't working.  It's working.  It's evident.

Don’t lump me in with those thinking the rebuild is doomed though. I’ve been saying all year this season is overall a positive so far.  Biggest thing is adding talented free agents this offseason to offset a lot of the prospect depth we’ve lost due to injuries and stagnation (any minor league pitcher besides Cease and any minor league outfielder besides Robert)

Get the best pitching coach you can find.  Reinsdorf has done enough damage to both his organizations hiring former players.  The problem is, when they hit, it's a good thing.  However, he clearly has a ton of trouble firing them.

Cordell has such a long swing that it has to kill his timing only playing once or twice a week

Not fair to judge Cordell until he gets some uninterrupted playing time.  As I've said before...he is a 5 tool player but I understand none of his tools are elite.

He's a negative WAR player throughout most of his career on offense and defense...so there's that

I agree in principle.  Who would that be?

You talking about the most of his career last year (40 plate appearances) or the most of his career this year (105 plate appearances)

Very small sample size...but for those that live and die on WAR I would agree nothing to like from that direction.

Eloy has got to stop guessing. He takes so many fastballs for strikes. I’m still shocked at how bad he is and how someone that used to make hitting look easy make it look so hard.

Hard to argue with that kind of track record

It is what it is so far. He's not saving runs by being in the outfield. Actually Jon Jay would be better defensively.
