Timmy U
At this rate, I might make a start for the Sox this year. I think they gotta bring Cease up now. I mean, don't they owe it to the rest of the A.L. to try to compete in non-Giolito games?
SoxAce
Our second best starter injured (still sad to say).
ChiSox59
Imagine Vieria goes back down in a couple days for Despaigne or Detwiler to make the start in Coveys spot.

Gotta bring up the kid now or start making trades for arms just to finish the year out. The injuries the last three seasons at both the major and minor league levels has made a serious impact on things and the Sox better figure out why this is happening. Off season conditioning? Diet?? In season work??? Something is helping to cause this (unless you believe in luck which I don't)

But he retired after injuries piled up last year throughout the operation. What's up with Head Athletic Trainer Brian Ball?

Pitchers in the Sox org were pretty much immune to arm injuries for a decade. That couldn’t continue at that rate. Not everything can or has to be blamed on someone Edited June 9, 2019 by mqr

I wish people would actually be informed before they personally insult others. I'm biased being in the field and knowing these guys but seriously. The primary job of the people you are insulting to to work with them AFTER injuries happen. They work with the strength and conditioning group to help prevent injuries However, they can't prevent them. They may be having issues trying to rehab them as well but if that's the case do your research and put the physicians in there as well as the athletic trainers follow their orders as well.

I have no issue holding the Sox medical staff accountable as well. As I've advocated in the past an outside group of consultants need to be brought in to evaluate everything connected with the injury situation. Trainers, doctors, off season conditioning programs, nutrition programs, in season conditioning programs...the entire gamut and scope of things. Cheap insurance just in case something is falling through the cracks, not being done or being done incorrectly. Doctors and trainers are human too...they make mistakes like all of us. (Just ask jack McDowell about that...) I recall during the "Shouldergate" saga when the Sox were under fire and some of their pitchers (Sirotka and Bob Howry come to mind) said their injuries were misdiagnosed that Kenny had a press conference and angrily (is he any other way?) defended the Sox medical / training staff. That didn't make anybody look good including the organization. Edited June 10, 2019 by Lip Man

That's why they call it the practice of medicine. while we are getting better and always making advances, no one is ever going to be right all the time. if those are the only ones you can come up with in your years of following the Sox, it's a good record. there will always be players who complain and rightfully so. However, the Sox entire medical staff has always have had a good results. You are correct that everything can reviewed and examined. It never hurts. Just remember to review the entire group not just an individual that is in all actuality pretty far down the line. Not singling out an individual, not trying to place "blame." Just doing a comprehensive review of everything and everyone with the best outside specialists in their respective fields. The Sox have actually done this before, in 1983 when the team started slowly ownership brought in Bobby Winkles to evaluate everything including Tony LaRussa. Eddie Einhorn talked about this in the WFLD-TV special "Next Year Is Hear" which aired in September 1983 (I have it in my library). Einhorn said if Winkles said, 'you have to let Tony go' it would have been done. Instead Winkles said, "Boys, don't worry about it, its gonna turn around...' Einhorn said Winkles was in Chicago for a week, they got his recommendations and sent him on his way.
