Man that blows for him and for us. This org either has their prospects playing pretty good or they're seriously injured. There is no in between.

Not really. Rutherford, Sheets, and Gonzalez have all been healthy. Good health hasn't translated to on the field performance for those guys though.

Meant to type the top guys since Lambert is probably our second best pitching prospect after Cease currently (not counting the high school kids just yet) but FYI, Rutherford has played very well recently. Sheets has shown more power this year than he has his entire minor league career. Gonzalez has had some bad luck, but has not been overmatched at all in AA and is probably our second best OF prospect after Robert (Basabe hasn't been quite right post surgery).

Gotcha. The Sox really need one of the prep pitchers taken early this year to turn into a legit guy. Pitching depth is rail thin in the minors.

Also, Rutherford has an OPS=589, Sheets=676, and Gonzalez=625. These guys are heading towards non-prospect status with a bullet.

All 3 of those guys started off horrendous but have started to turn it around recently. While those numbers aren't good they are dramatically better than how they started.

It's not the overall numbers but the progress they make throughout the season. Most prospects take time to adjust to the level. They are there to learn and improve. They do it at individual rates.

Yikes.  Lambert will be nearly 26 years old when he returns from TJS (if thats where he is headed).  That is no bueno for a guy that hasn't eclipsed AA.

Yep. We got the wrong Lambert brother unfortuntely. His little bro is only 22 and already doing well in the Show.

How would they have gotten him? He was a 2nd rounder out of HS in 2015. The Sox didn't have a 2nd rounder in 2015.

He's just saying we have the wrong one. Not literal like we had a choice and they chose incorrectly.

Yes. Thank you. I wasn't implying that the Sox had a choice in picking a Lambert brother.

The Sox did have a first rounder in 2015 though. Maybe they could have sent Fulmer to Colorado for the lil Lambert somewhere down the line?

If this is true, you got to start wondering if we’re doing something wrong on the development side that’s resulting in all these injuries.  This is starting to get crazy at this point.

Or the incredible run of health we had for decades is balancing itself.

Stuff happens. Just ask the Golden State Warriors.
