cant wait til Lavine is gone. I honestly have no use for any of these players.  There is no plan B for when they realize that Lavine is at best a useful piece for a contender.  They will trade him away for a bunch of bullshit, rinse and repeat.   And Jason will tell me it all looks like it's moving In the right direction LOL

Preach. Lavine is destined to always be the best player on a bad team.

Markkanen and White are 3rd options on a good team, and WCJ is a defensive specialist. However, there's not much they can do if they keep getting the 7th pick in perpetuity. I think Markkanen can develop into a 2nd option if he puts work in on developing a post game. He's fucking 7 feet tall. Use your size, dude. He's already got the skills most 7 footers don't have(mid-range and 3 point game)

And Kyle, what do I know. I would have never traded Butler to begin with and would have let Butler try to recruit others to come to Chicago (which I think he would have done).  Would they be better, I don't know, but I would have stuck to my guns.  I don't think you should ever trade a top 10/15 player in the NBA unless he is forcing his way out (with few exceptions in between).  Period.

Jimmy was never going to be a 1A but I agree with this 100%.  He played insanely hard and he has never been afraid to take and make big shots in crunch time.  They need somebody like him...bad.

The Bulls are getting painful to watch. Losing to Pacers at half by 8.

The Bulls have 1 win vs. a .500 or better team and that was beating the Clips playing without 3 guys in their rotation including Leonard, and playing the second half of a back to back.

And they called themselves a playoff team. For the love of God Reinsdorfs, pull the plug on this regime.

What would a package around Porter's expiring(ish) contract plus Lauri get us?  Will be interesting to see who is on the block, but if i were the Bulls, I'd start looking at packaging pieces to find anyone.  Maybe Twolves want to ship Towns out and start over?

It wouldn't get you much. I'd obviously trade for townes though for that package.

Realistically you get other expensive guys. Like you could get harrison barnes and a 1st rounder from the kings.

Not a good time to trade lauri.

I agree with you. But teams that are forced to trade star players, rarely win.

Meanwhile, Paxson is probably still arguing with Score radio hosts about the number of times the Bulls have performed a rebuild.

I remember saying it would only get worse and some were optimistic. The Bulls were significantly worse than they actually showed early on, and as competition has improved and teams stopped missing countless bunnies things have only gotten worse. The defense is trash and the offense has one + player on the entire unit. Even Lavine still takes a lot of terrible shots, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he's forcing the issue because he's surrounded by garbage. I can't believe anyone thought Lauri was any good, and I don't want to hear about how he's "bounced back." He's a bad defender who can't really finish around the basket in traffic and isn't even a great shooter in the modern game for a big; he's a solid one.

White is the one of the worst shooters in the NBA between 14-19 feet, but he's offended that the Bulls asked him to please stop shooting from that distance. This is a common theme too - the organization leadership has no respect amongst the players. The Bulls aren't the only team in the NBA trying to rid the mid-range jumper from all their games, but they're one of the only organizations whose players are not buying in and don't trust the Bulls.

No idea who this guy is, this just got tweeted into my timeline.  Don't really think any team stumping for their guy is a big deal though

A couple things (beyond the fact that this guy is purely some twitter fake insider clown):

- 30% of Bulls field goals have been taken by Dunn, Thad, and Coby; 3 guys that are legitimately at the bottom of the NBA efficiency wise.  If you want to know why Bulls are struggling...this is a great starting point and it doesn't even highlight Lauri and the long stretch he had as a poor player (he has bounced back to solid...but still regressed from last year and from many's projections).

-He has the same TS% as Kawhi, LeBron, and Kyrie. Higher than Mitchell, Beal, DLo, Siakam, CJ, Tatum, Wiggins, and Westbrook.
Among guys averaging 20 a game his BPM is also higher than Mitchell, Derozan, Booker, Tatum, Beal, DLO, Westbrook, Dinwiddie, and CJ.

- Lavine also has Career high in PER, OBPM, DBPM, BPM. Even stats like WS and VORP are already at career highs (and these aren't posession based stats, meaning he's already eclipsed previous career highs and we are just at the halfway mark).

- Oh and his 3pt% is just above 40% and on volume, no one who has made as many 3's as him has a higher % than him.

Bottom line: Lavine is the least of the Bulls issues. He is the one dude who continues to get better and based upon the above...while he still has issues, he has closed the gap defensively and is continuing to get better and more efficient offensively. Just imagine what his offensive numbers would look like, if he actually had real players around him who could make shots (boy could we use Porter, a real Lauri, and a PG who can shoot/play).

I disagree with you guy immensely on Lavine and that doesn't mean that I disagree that he doesn't belong this year. Lavine is in a situation impossible for him to succeed. He has no other creators on the team, and no other true finishers. His "shooters" suck, and he feels he has to force the issue because no one else has any aggression.

He's a dreadful defender and that needs to change, but the turnovers are more of a symptom of the bigger picture than of who he is as a player.

I think LaVine still has a chance in the right scenario to be an impact player on a good team. I think he's a very talented, but the situation he's in is impossible.

Yeah, there's a lot that goes into Lavines game that is being overlooked. The guy isn't fucking Ron Mercer garbage scoring his way to fake numbers. I also have no idea why he's b****ing about Lavines turnovers because of some SSS "clutch" nonsense. He controls the ball fine giving how much he has to dominate it.

Meanwhile...Lauri, the real player fans should be focused on, continues to STINK.  On the brighter side of things, Clippers might have legitimate interest in Thaddeus Young.  I liked the Young signing but he's struggled and Bulls are spiraling in no-man's land, so I'd be a big fan of getting out of the future years.  Sounded like Mo Harkless would be who the Clips might give up.  I also think it would be a solid move for the Clippers (get Young back in a role he fits in).

This should also force Lauri to play more.  Something is up with Lauri. He has fallen off the rocks ever since he had those physical issues late last year (from overworking or whatever it is). They were scary physical issues and I just don't know if all of that or some off the court stuff (no idea what) is causing him to not be the player he was his first two years in the league.

It also seems like the extreme position the Bulls staff has reportedly taken, has impacted certain guys games. I.e, you put up a layup or you shoot a 3. NO MID RANGE PERIOD.  I have never liked this approach (even though the analytics people love it). I say that because if you can pose a threat across all areas of the court, you are MUCH MUCH MORE DIFFICULT TO GUARD.  That doesn't mean you should take long 2's, those stink, but real mid range shots are just fine in my book and to me are necessary if you want to finish at the hoop at a high-level.

I think the reason why Lavine hasn't finished at the bucket as good as he has in years past is because he has been more hesitant to leverage the mid-range game.  Lauri doesn't use it enough either. He either takes wild dunks or near dunks and obviously just shoots a bunch of 3's. Get him in the post where he has a very solid mid-range turn around game and I think you see Lauri as a better player. Even if the coaches aren't directly saying it...I think it has a serious impact on how he plays the game.

Zion debut tonight.

Rough start, numerous turnovers, out of shape and can only play in short bursts.

But boy did he really put on a show in the second half.

Rebounding, passing, made 4/4 from three in a short time span and totally changed the momentum of the game around, but ran out of gas and had to sit at the end as SA pulled away.

Stream was going in and out, he actually scored 17 consecutive points for Pelicans to give them a one point lead.
