Well here's some good news, Fulmer was told to pack his bags and go back to Charlotte right after the game. More and more since he'll be out of options at the end of the year it looks like the Sox are going to cut bait with him and admit they screwed up the pick badly.

MLB All Star David Price  said   after the White Sox drafted Fulmer that Fulmer was ready to pitch in the majors. Both Price and Fulmer went to the same college. Price said that Fulmer had so much talent, he would be wasting his time in the minors. Obviously everybody misjudged Fulmer.

You sure seem gleeful over the failings of players on what I presume is your favorite baseball team. Odd flex but ok.

Not gleeful, pissed off that so many of the picks from this front office either can't stay healthy or are very bad at what they do. Making it worse is that it seems other franchises don't seem to have as much trouble in this regard as the Sox.

Yet nothing ever changes with the organization in this area.

Yesterday was amazing, but quietly that was an amazing inning by Ruiz.  If he can harness that electric arm, wow.  Dare to dream.

I don't know if he pitched at any other time in his life but he was signed as an int'l FA as a catcher and only became a pitcher in 2016 or 2017 It must e very difficult to harness that strong arm and get the ball to do what you want to. Even guys who have been pitchers all their lives have problems with that. There's some hope there.

Not sure about others but the cubs have been absolutely terrible at drafting under that new FO.  Bryant was a layup. Outside of that- I don’t see anything spectacular

The Cubs were able to supplement things with great trades and a willingness to actually spend what it took to get top of the line, quality free agents. That makes up for any drafting deficiencies.

Those very same top of the line, quality free agents are sinking them right now.   The cubs aren't perfect, Darvish, Heyward, descalso, chatwood, morrow are not really glowing reports

and if this is what Kimbrel really is, they are in deep shit.

Yup they could have done what they’ve done without supplementing with huge deals at all.

Nobody said they were perfect but in fact they've made the playoffs four straight seasons with a title. They are a decent bet to make it five straight playoff seasons (no guarantees of course) but even if they don't, any Sox fan I know of would kill to make the playoffs four years in a row and win a title.

They must have done something right to accomplish this right?

They’ve spent over 3/4 of a Billion dollars to win the World Series and then try to keep it going.  Just shy of half a billion spent to buy the first championship.

They did, but before they did they suffered, hard.  Lost 100 games three seasons in a row.  And in those seasons they made some mind numbing signings like Edwin Jackson and David DeJesus and traded away minor league players that turned out to be good major leaguers.

The fact is Theo's last couple years in free agency have sucked, and the 2015-2016 seasons have largely bouyed them and brought them the playoffs.  If Theo made better moves or even did NOT make certain moves, they might have more rings rights now.  I'm sure they would rather have Arrieta instead of a Darvish right now and especially last season.

Can't argue with that.

And the point is? Today if you want to win (again no guarantees) you better be prepared to spend money on getting top talent because no franchise has a good enough minor league system to fill every single hole that develops on a roster.

That either means free agency or being willing to make trades for players who make a lot of money that are available by their previous clubs.

Can the Sox spend three quarters of a billion dollars? Probably not...can they spend more than they have been over the past decades? I would argue with the revenue streams flowing into MLB today they certainly can.
