PWSox87
What is the deal with Colon? Has anyone heard anything? When is he supposed to announce if he will sign the contract Please update me
aboz56
The reason you haven't heard anything is because he won't be resigning with the Sox, which is pretty much common knowledge. Once the playoffs are over, I'm sure the Hot Stove will heat up and the offers to Colon will roll in and he'll sign elsewhere. Unless the Sox increase the offer, HE GONE! SuperSteve
I can't see us competing with the likes of the Yankees and Red Sox to keep him. Good bye to the tub of goo.
Al Lopez Ghost (old)
If you hoped the White Sox would sign Colon (I did), no news is bad news.
CubKilla
When Colon jets, Garland will be our number 3. Garland's made up my mind after multiple seasons that he is a number 4 starter AT BEST..... and that is on a good day. How f***ing funny is that? This Organization is pitiful. Of all the Sox starters, Garland put together the longest streak of consecutive quality starts this season. While he may not be a great number 3 starter, he is adequate and I can think of a lot of guys who would be worse as a number 3.

I know you know your baseball and we both know MB is the man. But quality starts don't mean nothing to me when your career numbers paint you as a .500 or so pitcher. Jon Garland is the definition of mediocrity and is the perfect example of what this team is. One day Garland is the BoSox Slayer..... pitching 8 innings of 1-hit ball. The next start Garland is Tiger food..... pitching 4 innings of 7/8-hit ball and giving up 5-6 ER in the process. Garland has had more than enough time to prove he is an above average starter. It was supposed to be "The Year" for JG the past 2 seasons. He tanked. He don't have the stuff, isn't consistent enough, and is a number 4 at best. If this team is serious about winning , JG will be our number 5 in 2004. But I'm not counting on that happening.
spataro51
I haven;t heard anything on bartolo since that article that was in the southown saying that 3 years for 30 mil was not enough money. I think alot of the reasons we havent heard anything about the sox is because of the stupid cubs, they are getting all of the attention as usual. remember this is a cubs town. If the cubs didn't make the playoffs. there would of been alot of articles etc. about the sox in the papers and on the radio. WE just have to wait until the RED SOX kick their ass in the WS. I'd have to say Esteban Loaiza put up the biggest string of quality starts together. He was the definition of quality this year.
