The guy is everything the White Sox stand for: young, controllable, affordable, cheap right now and has been effective. He's the kind of guy they are trying to acquire. Young players. Now Colome will be traded. Not Bummer tho. Lol...you literally just called Bummer a “dime a dozen” guy the other day.
poppysox
I'm happy with whatever happens in the Colome trade or keep scenario. Getting overpaid for Colome or having him on next years team are both acceptable outcomes.

Greg read your well thought out post about Bummer's value. He digested it, learned from it, and then did some research on Bummer's statistics. He had a change of heart based on the information and statistics at hand.
chitownsportsfan
I was thinking of making a thread on it but what is our "best offer" to any contender? If it's Abrue+Colome+Bummer what does that return?
Perfect Vision
Giants are now only 2 games back of both wildcard spots. Looking more and more like they won't be trading either Will Smith or Sam Dyson. Will increase the value of Colome/Bummer. Depending on what the Pirates decide to do with Felipe Vazquez, Bummer could be the best lefty reliever on the trade market this year if Hahn decides to make him available. I'm not totally sold on trading him, but things may be falling into place where the Sox could receive huge value for him.

I'm perfectly happy to keep both Colome & Bummer...but neither isn't tradeable for an overpay.

You're right about that, and it's fascinating to think how important these next 5 Giants games are to the reliever trade market. If Smith, Dyson, and Watson are no longer available, the ask for guys like Giles, Yates, and Vazquez will be enormous, and the Dodgers might be happy to deal with the White Sox if it's "only" going to cost Dustin May.
