Which makes you wonder how they think they have a prayer of contending next season.  Last off-season was the time to start adding some core players via free agency.

Yup, with the Stone tweeting the "5 years to build a house" and consistently making very stupid roster decisions. 2020 is really starting to look like another "developmental year" which would be quite the shame.

The fact that they're intentionally not fielding their best lineup and their best player is hurt probably has something to do with it.

Poor Mets. How can a team with this much pitching be this bad? Reminds of our 2016, except with an even more incompetent front office and ownership group.

They’re almost back in the WC hunt...look at the standings.  Unfortunately, after next series, their schedule turns really difficult.

White Sox outscored 100-55 during this 4-15 stretch since ASB.   Abreu 0 for his last 31.

Things would look a helluva lot better with a 4-6 WAR cornerstone at 3B or RF already in the mix.  But no, that was too much to ask.  Their short sighted stupidity just leverages this offseason even greater and most likely it's a make or break year for the rebuild.  There's not much coming up in the way of production after 2020.  Holes will need to be filled via FA smartly this coming winter.  Good luck.

Yeah I see two obvious holes in the future linuep (3 with Abreu), the future pitching staff is what worries me. Finding out if Lopez is for real will go a long way.

At some point finding out what you have in Collins, Yermin, Mendick and having your future CF, 2B getting their feet wet in MLB is more important for next year "contention" instead of a moving up a few spots to get a player that might be trade bait by the time you're supposed to be contending.

You’re forgetting another Top 4-6 pick in 2020...seems we say that every year now.

Cease must get to 2 strikes on something like 60-70% of the hitters he faces before losing a startling amount of them. I would be interested in any numbers on this. He has been horrific pitching with two strikes on batters.

It's been a little better today thus far. However, you can clearly see why his pitch count is always jacked up, going back to the minors. Even when he gets guys out after getting ahead, the amount of foul balls he throws is quite something.

The White Sox/Hahn apparently don’t believe in any of those three or Mendick would be up now and Castillo/Reed DFA’ed.
