The Critic Posted October 13, 2003 Share Posted October 13, 2003 Didn't see the whole game, obviously ( :fyou Bill Worst ), but the Kings' 3rd goal was VERY VERY soft. Trickled through Thibault and was tapped in while he was swimming. This team cannot afford to get off to a bad start. But i dont really blame the coaching staff for that because it is the slow s***ty defensemens fault. The Blackhawks could probably have a decent scoring team if they didnt have the puck on their side of the rink 75 percent of the time. Weekes just doesn't have the stamina, nor talent to be a starter. He is a great backup, but a great backup doesn't necessarily make a good goalie. Also, they need to find some guys that can score, these guys couldn't score with a room full of whores and a C-note in their hands... At least I do cheer for the Senators as well - I will have something during the regular season to smile about...now if they can get this 'choke in the playoff' thing under control... I met him and became of huge fan of his when he played for the Ft Wayne Komets while I was in college. He is a really awesome guy. Always had time for an autograph and to talk to his fans. I am grateful to him for taking the team to the finals 2 years ago, but he just doesn't have the stamina or talent for a full-time goalie. he would be great at platooning or backing up, but he just doesn't seem to have the stamina and the team doesn't have any scoring abilities to speak of either. Right you are and things won't get any better unless the fans stay the hell away from the UC and hurt Dollar Bill in the pocketbook. If you start seeing "crowds" of 5000 a night then maybe things might change. If he's still drawing 10-11 thousand he is still making some money so he will go right on screwing the fans over. They won't, at least not consistently. The players don't give a s***, the coaches don't give a s*** and the management REALLY doesn't give a s*** if this team wins or loses so why should the fans.
