cwsox
I have been waiting for you to post about the meltdown of the Dolphins in the last 3 minutes of regulation time (I never expect a Wannstet coached team to win in December... but this time I was really pissed) and then the collapse of the Packers which knocked both the Dolphs and the Patriots out of everything -- the Jets?????????? What a disgrace to the AFC East.
CubKilla
It's gonna be rough being a Dolphins fan for the next few seasons. The Dave Wannstedt meltdown has begun. He had that same, stupid, "Where the hell am I..... WTF am I doing here?" look on his face as the Dolphins lost to NE..... the same face he had for 12 or 13 games a season while coaching the Bears. :**** Dave Wannstedt!!!!! cwsox
I take the Terry Bevington approach with him - I was a there before him and I will outlast him. I was very unhappy when he was hired and just have to wait it out. It was all there, all there for the Dolphs, they just had to finish - if you had Ricky Williams who had run for 170+ yards, were up by 3, and had the ball at your own 3, 2.25 minutes left, would you throw 3 straight passes? Only Wannstedt would, and did. But then Bears fans know how that goes. What a damned fool.
witesoxfan
Atleast it came against your boy Tom Brady....so maybe that's why. Maybe it wasn't a Dolphin meltdown but rather Brady stepping up and making the plays. Anyways....that game was so fun....because in about week 14, I told my friend that in order for the Bills to win the east, the Fins had to lose the rest of their games except for week 17, the Pats had to do the same, the Jets had to beat the Pats and then lose the rest of their games and then the Bills had to win out. All was working well, to a point, until the Bills lost to Green Bay(a game I still haven't gotten over yet)....and in week 17, I said the Dolphins and Patriots had to tie. When it went to overtime....well, I think you know what I was thinking. And then Vinateri's kick....he got a lot of boot in it, but not much else...I figure that thing had the distance to be good from about 60 yards....and the accuracy to be good from about 37...and the Pats won as it was a 35-yard kick. As pitiful as it is for the Jets to be representing the AFC East(I had them out of it in week 8 as a 2-5 team....that bit me in the ass), it does make me proud, yet disappointed, in one thing....the last place team, the Bills, finished one game out of first....now think about it...had the Bills not been screwed over in the Packers game, all 4 teams in the East could have finished with a 9-7 record...how messed up is that s***? I hope you as a Dolphin fan knows what they need to win next year...because I sure as hell don't. They have a decent QB, they have a RB who is in the top 2 in the AFC in Williams, they have a good receiving crew, they must have a good O-line if Williams ran for almost 2000 yards, they have a good defense as a whole, and they have a good special teams unit....maybe it is Wannstedt. I didn't think a team would suck that much because of a coach. Regardless...I'm a Colt fan come next weekend....I still can't frickin believe the Jets made the playoffs....hell, they lost to the frickin Bears! You know a team is bad if they lost to the Bears! cwsox
Of course with the Dolphs up by 11 with 3 minutes to go I knew that Tom Brady would do it again - he is the best for keeping cool and pulling it out. Always trust Brady to find a way. After all, he is the guy who kept Drew Henson on the bench for 2 years. Henson was a better player, but Brady's results, can't argue with. The Dolphs need better (head) coaching. Their road record is pathetic and so was the play calling on Miami's last possession. It would have been cool if it had been a four way 9-7 tie! Maybe next year -- I cannot cheer for the Jets in the playoffs, although I would usually go with a AFC East team. I may have to go with Oakland with the numerous UM players on their roster, especially the great (to me) Charles Woodson. Pittsburgh sucks, Indy sucks, the Jets suck, what the hell is a Titan - guess I have to go Raiders for my cheering interest this post season. However, come Super Bowl, I will be for the AFC team, whoever it is. I see the Sabres are being talked up by the NHL as leaving Buffalo. That would be a shame. witesoxfan
They almost won a Stanley Cup a few years back with Hasek at goalie, didn't they? I am not the greatest hockey mind there is....as all I see is a bunch of guys skating around hitting a puck with their sticks into the goals. That really is too bad....that leaves Buffalo and Green Bay as the only two teams to have just a football team. But back to the playoffs...I gotta like the Titans' chances....they have won 10 of their last 11 and will play either the Jets or Colts next round, if I'm not mistaken....McNair seems to have a good game almost every time, and the defense will play well, like it always does...if Eddie George plays well, the Titans could go deep. Kind of hard to believe that the Titans went 11-5 and didn't have an All-Pro member....all I know is that from the AFC, it will be either the Raiders or the Titans. And I can't believe it...but the frickin Browns got in the playoffs....how the hell they did that is beyond my knowledge....sheesh. And there won't be 4 9-7 teams in the AFC East next year...unless the Bills get some more defense personell, I don't look for them to improve much over their 8-8 season this year...they'd be damn lucky to win 10 games. They could use another pass rusher and maybe another OLB. The special teams is really good right now(still laughing at Randy Cross...the Bills got trapped inside their own 20, and he said that the Pack would get good field position...next thing you know, there is an 83 or 84 yard punt by Brian Moorman and the Packers were on their own 3!) and the offense is good....all they need is defense....the Pats need another RB....maybe use Kevin Faulk out of the backfield instead of Antowain Smith, because Smith struggled a lot this year. They have enough receivers and their defense is fine, except for stopping the run...and the Jets, well, I hope Chad Pennington comes back down to Earth next year...because right now, as much as I don't want to admit it, the Jets look a lot like the Patriots did last year...a backup QB comes in and turns the team around....god I hope not....
YASNY
The Titans aren't a flashy team, and really don't seem to scare anyone. Total lack of respect, in all honesty. But I'll tell you this much... They are very very solid in all areas. I went and watched them beat Indy on Dec. 8 and it was just a very impressive, methodical performance. I really expect them to go very deep, possibly even win the whole thing.

I really expect them to go very deep, possibly even win the whole thing. They get a bye in the first round....meaning they will have to beat only one team, gotta be the Jets or Colts, or if not, the Browns or Steelers...the only team, IMO, that can beat them is the Jets....they seemed to take care of the Colts and Steelers pretty handily this past year and the Browns are playing without Couch....Holcomb played well in the first two games, but he hasn't played for a while now...and unless he can get hot real quick, the Browns are going to be eliminated in round 1. I'm thinking the Raiders are probaby the team that's going all the way from the AFC...and if they go, you gotta think they're gonna win it all....I don't think any team can stop them in the NFC(especially the Packers....they are terrible for a 12-4 team....they should be about an 8-8 team). DonkeyKongerko
i think home field is pretty big in this NFL where so many teams are good at home and totally suck on the road. I just can't envision many scenarios where the raiders lose a playoff game at home. Right now they have to be my super bowl favorite because of the Eagles semi-questionable status and the packers well they just suck too. Still I can't discount the Titans as McNair and Jeff Fisher have shown in the past they can take a team into unfriendly territory and just execute their gameplan and basically bore the opposition to death (and win). So I guess the Titans are my wildcard pick for a super bowl appearance or maybe even the Colts if Peyton gets hot.
